Ramandu Casting Announcement!

Voyage of the Dawn Treader is in Post-Production and we have heard casting announcements for every single major role in the upcoming film except for one: Ramandu. The fact is, the writing staff here at NaraniaFans have known just who was playing this coveted role for quiet some time but were instructed to not post it until la set date. Now that date has come and we can share the good news with you all.

Actor Leonard Nimoy, best known for his performance as the beloved Vulcan Spock on Star Trek, will be playingLeonard Nimoy Ramandu! Nimoy, has been experiencing a bit of a career renissance with the recent Star Trek film and his guest spots on the TV show Fringe. He was also origianally slated to voice “the Fallen” in last summers Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

“He is a very serious actor, despite what people think, ‘says our insider.” He is a remarkably gifted and very talented and fits the role perfectly.”

Some may be concerned that he may be too recognizable as Spock. However we have it on good authority that the same make-up artists who helped bring Gandalf and Saruman to life in LOTR will be working their magic on Ramandu.

“Nimoy’s own wife didn’t even recognize him on filming days!” Said one source.

NarniaFans spy, Loki has also informed us that Mr. Nimoy will also be contributing a song to the movies soundtrack. The song, tentatively called “ The Ballad of The Dawn Treader” is expected to be a rousing follow-up to his classic hit “The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins” which you can see on YouTube.

And in the words of Mr. Spock.,”The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one, as logic dictates”… As such, it is only logical that I tell you all…

  1. is this for real or an April Fools joke?

i wouldnt mind Nimoy for Ramandu, in fact if it were true i’d be doing cartwheels :D.

but him singing the Ballad of the Dawn Treader… now that has got to be a joke. i dont think you can pay him enough money to sing anything as cheesy as that ever again.

  2. I am reading this before April 1 in the U. S. So it must be true, or someone jumped the gun. This website makes its April fools jokes a little too obvious.

  3. Ha! I suppose it’s important that the jokes be somewhat obvious. Hehe. Last April 1st I pulled a joke about Dawn Treader filming on a fictitious beach on an island on the western Philippines. Obviously I overestimated people’s knowledge of Philippine geography, because even my Filipino contacts believed it. All but one! 😀

  4. Even though this is clearly supposed to be an April Fools joke, its actually not the worst suggestion in the world ever. Its not like the old “Zac Efron to play Eustace” April Fools from a year or two back, which was so utterly ridiculous you can’t believe people actually fell for it! This though is actually a rather decent idea! If only…..

  5. Nice one! I think this might be my favorite april fools yet! Not that he wouldn’t do a good job; I don’t think he’d ever agree to a role like this.

    • Well… Nimoy did voice a charatcer in last years Box Office travesty “Land of the Lost” with Will Farrell.

  6. Mwahahah…Nimoy actually looks the part, but the ‘Ballad of the Dawn Treader’ might kill me. Considering I almost died from laughter listening to his ‘Ballad of Bilbo Baggins’. Oi. You guys are awesome!

  7. This strikes me as being an April Fool’s joke…somehow, I just cannot see Nimoy, much as I love him, in something as small as a Narnia film. Not when he is well-known for Spock. This seems inconsistent with the filmmakers’ pattern of choosing unknowns for big parts…

    Halfway believed it though.

  8. Jonathon, I am surprised that you are the only one who threw your hat into this arena this year. Imagine, a year without NW pranks.

    • I was rather surpsied as well! I mean aside from the logo change.

But believe me, it can and is difficult to come up with the right jokes. ( there were ones I didn’t even use!)

        • Hmm, there was one on a Twilight movie being released the same day as VODT, but the dates for those are pretty much set in stone…

And one that Paul said ( and I agreed upon further thought) would just make every one angry that would claim VODT would not be in 3-D.

That’s it for now. I can’t reveal the rest… they may be used next year!

  9. Hahaha! Very funny! I can’t imagine Ramandu doing the hand sign of ‘Live long and prosper’. Happy April Fool’s!
