“How could this happen? I was so careful. I picked the wrong play, the wrong director, the wrong cast. Where did I go right?” April Fools 2017

Well, fans and friends, another April Fools has come and gone. Yes, the last two articles you saw, were in fact, were part of another one of our annual  pranks. I’ll admit, they may not have been up to snuff with those from years past, but with so little news about the films to go off, it’s harder than it should be. We hope they gave you a chuckle, a groan, or at least a good facepalm. We also hope you shared them with your loved ones.

To reiterate:

1: Gilbert Gottfried is NOT replacing Liam Neeson as Aslan. We know nothing about the cast for Silver Chair, and there is a 1000% chance that, if they do replace Neeson, it will not be with Gilbert Gottfried. Aslan as we all know, should sound regal, wise, majestic and at least like He somewha from the British Isles. This one is kind of a throwback to the halcyon days when we announced that the likes of Mr. T , Zac Ephron, and Lindsey Lohan was playing Reepicheep, Eusatce and Ramandu’s daughter respectively…so ridiculous that there is no way it could be believed. Fun fact with the sources “McGurk” is the name that Mr. Mxysptlk calls out in his first appearance not only in the Superman comics books but in Superman: The Animated Series, and Red McCaw is a play on “Scarlet Macaw”, Iago’s breed of parrot.

2: Lin-Manuel Miranda and John Williams are NOT prepping an “Inklings” musical. I have the feeling that both are very busy at this point, Williams with Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and Ready Player One and Miranda with Mary Poppins Returns among other projects. Also, as fun Easter Egg that hinted that this was a joke came in the hyperlink attached to the producer named “Leo Bloom”. If you clicked it, you were redirected to a picture of the late Gene Wilder as Leo Bloom from the Mel Brooks musical The Producers.

So, again, thank you all for indulging us in our folly.  And remember, when we get close to the end of March, feel free to submit jokes to us.
