Tolkien often spoke of evil simultaneously desiring the light, AND wanting to extinguish it. Dayhawk, is that what you mean with "purity"? That there are those who are conflicted between loving it and hating or fearing it? Somewhat like the way some people can be offered happiness and not know what to do about it?

well sorta. You see all four of the races have a set destiny, Faes get to go to heaven while the others are destined for hell. THough there were some Vampires that were able to get redeemed, it is mostly a lose lose situation for any of the other races to be so. But you see Kathrine, the human girl, is somehow the key to their redeemtion (she has pure blood, which will be explained later).

Vampires need her blood to be redeemed, Witches need her death, and werewolves (their leader was cursed to love the original Kathrine and all her desendants for ever) need her love.

If this is to be a story about redemption, I would recommend having Katherine discover a way that the other types can be saved from Hell _regardless_ of the perceived rules. Kind of like the way Jesus ignored the arbitrary observance of the Sabbath in favor of the higher priority of doing mercy and helping those in distress.

Shes actually a symbol for Jesus (get it? Blood of the lamb, death to save our sins, love to give us salvation), but she isn't perfect like him, but whatever shes close enough. But in the end Diana and her find a way to redeem them all. I just cant reveal that yet, (well redeem the ones that WANT to be redeemed).

Yes....they do have to WANT to be redeemed, just as someone who is loved can't benefit by it unless he or she is willing to ACCEPT the love.

I think it sounds good dh go for it i liked the twilighs series but not enough to go see the movie i just don't think i would like it i think it will crash and burn and not live up to the hype

ok but should I start a new thread or just go to the 1st post of this one...well maybe another thread, it might be longer than just a paragraph...idk

here's the first little part:

1313 AD, Wick Scotland.

He held her hand. He wasn’t supposed to, the guards didn’t allow the four prisoners to have contact, but he did anyway. Most have thought that the original Dracula was a count, but no the first was nothing but a soldier, in love with woman from out of this world. She was to have already killed him before today, but something had held her back.
“It’s because of you,” she said as they were thrown into a dark cage, “that the four of us are here.”
“Don’t fear death,” Dracula said, “You will be back where you belong, we” he pointed to the witch and the werewolf, “we burn for all eternity.”
Dione had once been an Angel, but like others like her, she was sent to counter act the threats on humanity, specifically Dracula and his followers. But once she got to earth, Witches and Werewolves were also being born, and now all four of their races were hunted by mankind. Most of the time they were able to get away, but this was the first time the humans were able to catch the leaders.
Jabe cried. His one true love Katharine was dead. Having been cursed forever to love her, he knew the pain would never cease. Dione pitied him. Katharine had been her human sister, and knew that her sorrow was shallow compared to his. But yet she kept her stoic face, never allowing the others see her fear.
The Witch, Therastine, was more than happy to die. When she would die she would be considered a martyr to the Witches. She sat in between Jabe and Dione with a sly and satisfied expression. He wanted to kill her; it was because of Therastine that Katharine was dead. She had been the sacrifice to redeem Therastine’s son, and now the bastard was in heaven with her, while Jabe was to be sent to Hell.
“Get them,” said one of the guards. At first the four prisoners thought they were to be taken to another dungeon, but suddenly they threw something in.
Black snakes slithered toward Dione. Her one weakness was their venom, and it would surely kill her. But Dracula stopped them, being that he could control them. He had never seen her so fragile, so ready to slip away. It was as if she didn’t want to go back to heaven.
There was a sound above them that sounded like moving stone. As they looked up they saw that the ceiling was moving away and letting the sun sink in. He couldn’t control the snakes as his skin began to melt off his body. She screamed as she was bitten, light blue blood seeping from the wounds.
Suddenly there after, the cage was lit on fire. Therastine laughed as she burned. Jabe was stabbed with a silver sword, not having seen where it came from.
Within minutes the four prisoners were dead.
Having had to confirm their deaths, William had to check their cage. What he saw was a bloodied Werewolf, a blackened corpse and something he didn’t expect. The Fae and the Vampire (what was left of his bones) were holding each other’s hand.

So I guess William is going to be the hero?

Question: What do you mean by "her sorrow was shallow compared to his? Was she not as sad as he was? I don't get it.

Well its supposed to imply that he loved her so deeply, no one elses' love for her could compare.

And no William is just a page...never really mentioned later.

second part

August 15th 2066 WWIII

No one would predict how this would be. The Descendants came up to the diamond shaped table, and looked at each other with suspension. All four of them emptied their coats of either Venom guns, Silver shooters, or flame guns. The Fae had to promise not to use her power to kill the Vampire, and a Fae couldn’t break her promise. She was at the northern end of the table with the Vampire opposite her, the Witch on her left and the Werewolf on her right. All of them had to look human; no one was allowed to show their true form.
“We have always been at war with each other,” Diana said, “but during human wars we cease to feud. We-“
“Skip the speech Fae,” Christine sneered, “we know it already.”
“Let her speak,” growled Gabe.
“We have to remain peaceful during this era of human history, agreed?”
He hated how stoic she looked, free of any passionate emotion.
“Agreed,” Gabe and Christine said, but Drake said nothing.
“You don’t wish peace?” Diana asked.
“What about Katharine, what if one of us finds her?” Drake said as he let his fangs become visible.
“If the descendant of Katharine is found, than yes, we will go back to the way things should be. But until then do you agree to peace?”
He smiled wryly as he saw how she never wavered. He had always known her to be the most un-frightened hunter, even when he his fangs, his over all demure was daunting. She looked beautiful in the candle light, he had to admit, but he knew to well that looks were deceiving.
“Agreed,” he said, “but afterwards Diana, you and I need to settle some things.”
“Of course,” she said, suddenly putting on a smile, “your death is an occasion I can’t miss.”
With that the four of them went their separate ways, taking back their weapons. They had to walk single file though when they came to the stairs. Drake was the first to step up with Diana following closely behind. This would be the last time she would see him for a long while, and she couldn’t have been happier. His kind was repulsive, and the longer she had to bear not hunting him, the longer it was until she found peace.

Do you mean they looked at each other with "suspicion?"

Anyway, it looks good. We'll see what else you come up with.

I must say that this sounds like a really good story. The idea is fascinating.

I just have one request, could you maybe put up a reference list of the main characters, their race and who they primarily hunt...and why they need Katherine? I have a really hard time keep this kind of stuff straight, even though I love it, and so that would be greatly appreciated. But, you don't have to, of course. Anyway, so far, it's fascinating.

Who's the "her" in this sentence?
