Thanks be to God that it wasn't worse for you.

At least you learned a cautionary lesson. There are people in this world who literally _enjoy_ being angry--who go through life intentionally _searching_ for an opportunity to choose to feel offended about something. The reason why they do this is because if you're angry at someone, you can feel there _must_ be some way the other party is wrong and you are right. Thus, by lying to themselves that an offense has been committed against them, they can get a dose of the "drug" of feeling morally superior to someone else. I am as certain as I can be at this distance, that your assailant has this frankly evil mentality of taking pleasure in hatred and resentment. It is not just "lack of self-esteem;" it is an intentionally chosen, morally guilty sin, for which the person sinning is entirely responsible and blameworthy. Guess how much she cares about her delightful habit being a sin.

This is a fact of human nature, but has not been examined nearly enough. If you can still find it, I urge you to read through the Socratic thread "The Dark Pleasure of Disliking People."

I'm very glad that it worked out fine for you and that you didn't have to go to court or anything!! Praise the Lord

there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.

I'm glad it worked out.

I'm glad it worked out okay, it's always good when you can get the crazy people to shut up easily

Thanks guys. But now I have another problem. Yesterday, someone reported to the principal that I had been teasing them, flicking them off, and making funny faces to them in the locker room before gym, so I had to talk to the principal and the counselor about it. I don't recall doing ANY of those things. they never told me who it was, but I was mad that they would report me for something I didn't even do.

I'll pray that this gets straightened out soon.

Good news guys. My school counselor had me talk to the girl who choked me on Monday, and so we were able to straighten things out between the two.

I hope it really did produce a constructive outcome. In my own experience, meetings like that are sometimes a fraud, set up by authorities who favor the wrongdoers, or who ARE the wrongdoers, for just one purpose: to pretend to be making peace, while actually giving the real offender a free ride and giving no remedy or relief to the victim.
