I don't mean that in a trite way, either -- I hope that this difficult period of your life will not only end, but be redeemed and seem worth the struggle.
Thanks so much MissReep. I interviewed with a veterinary diagnostic lab here in town last week and am still waiting to hear on that. I'm also talking to a woman I know from church tomorrow about a job she has available; she wants to know if I'd even be interested in pursuing it. If it's anything like I'm remotely looking for, I'll probably pursue it, because I'd likely be working for this woman and I think she'd be a lot of fun to work for/with.

UPDATE:

I have a new job! I don't have a start date yet, I have to pass a criminal background check first...BUT it's the job I've wanted for a while so I'm getting excited about it! It couldn't have come at a better time since I'm losing my health insurance in less than 2 months. Now to just get through all the formalities and red tape. Which includes writing a resignation letter to my employer.

I've considered talking to one of my good friends who is studying to be a licensed Biblical counselor, but I just haven't figured out the right way to approach the topic.

Since it is not a crime to suffer from depression, I recommend saying to your friend that you might be suffering depression. Plain and straightforward; subtle nuances can be explored after that.

That's wonderful! Is it a veterinary job, or something else?

It is, but in a laboratory, not working with animals or clients (where I think the majority of my job-related depression is coming from). We'll see how I like it for about a year and then I might go back to school. I'm putting those plans on hold for now to see how I like this job.

I'm so glad that you got a new job! I will pray that it will be a good fit for you, and that if not, it will become a good launching pad into new opportunities.
