I've always been excited for Star Wars!

One minor nitpick: Why did they change the shape of the Falcon? It doesn't even look like the same ship.

According to Screen Rant, It would appear the new Han movie will take place right around the time Han wins the Falcon, so the ship will be seen as it was when Lando owned it and before Han made the myriad changes to it.

Also explains why the interior is white.

And if Lando doesn't say, at least one time in this film, "Hello, what have we here?" I'm going to cry.

In the real world If something is legal under the laws of war as they exist at the time, then it is not a war crime, despite any retconning fifty years later.

As for Alderaan, it would have been perfectly legal for Tarkin to send down troops and arrest Bail Organa as he was demonstrably a traitor to the Empire.

^Speaking of Alderaan, Tarkin, and Bail, I highly recommend the book, "Leia, Princess of Alderaan" by Claudia Gray. I think it's one of my favorite Star Wars books, maybe because I really like Bail Organa and there's precious little devoted to his character throughout the franchise! Events/characters from the Clone Wars series and TLJ are referenced also; I enjoy when storylines are connected by threads, however small they might be.

If you like Bail, have you read the book "Wild Space"? I can't remember who it's by, but it stars Obi-Wan and Bail as they check out a Sith planet.

How would Earth fare if transported to the Galaxy Far Far Away? We'd probably be the test subject for the Death Star. Although Tr*mp and Tarkin would be best buddies...

Warrior, no I have not-is this what you're referring to? It looks like it's part of a series by Karen Miller. If so, it may be quite a while before I get to reading them. I kind of made a promise to myself to not buy any more books before I read what I already own. Which is a really long, kind of intimidating list that I'm only 5 books into (out of the minimum 50 I've challenged myself to read this year!)

I'm reading The Rise of the Empire at the moment, which is actually a 2 novel, 3 short stories book. Star Wars: Tarkin and Star Wars: A New Dawn are the two full length novels. I've already gotten past 1 short story and am about 10 chapters into Tarkin. Personally I think this should count as 2 books instead of 1 on goodreads, but...I guess I can't make it happen that way. lol.
