For the Snow Festival (First Snowy night after the first Full Moon of the New Year), you are invited to try your hand at writing a Narnian Carol.
The Topic is up to you -- it does not have to include references to snow, as long as the main theme is distinctly Narnian. However, the words need to be able to be set to the the tune of "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear" and follow its iambic scanning pattern of 8 syllables+6 syllables, with *rhymes at the end of the 6 syllable lines:
da-Dum da-Dum da-Dum da-Dum (8 syllables)
da-Dum da-Dum da-Dum (6 syllables)*
da-Dum da-Dum da-Dum da-Dum
da-Dum da-Dum da-Dum*
da-Dum da-Dum da-Dum da-Dum
da-Dum da-Dum da-Dum*
da-Dum da-Dum da-Dum da-Dum
da-Dum da-Dum da-Dum*
Since the first Full Moon of 2017 is Thursday January 12, all entries need to be in by January 11 and the winner will be announced at the Winter Festival.
