Narnia Fans Mailbag #15

We’ve just posted the fifteenth edition of the NarniaFans Mailbag. We’ve answered three letters this week, covering fan poetry, Prince Caspian, Lisbeth Scott, Aslan’s Mane and more. Keep those e-mails coming!

Q: Hi! thank you for answering my question. I’m looking forward to that news. Also I want to ask you about LWW. Is it Aslan’s hair that the witch is wearing in the battle scene? Well, thank you and continue doing this fantastic job. Bye.

-Debora “Tomoyo” Martin

A: You’re welcome! It’s my pleasure to continue doing this website and to continue it’s wild growth that it’s been experiencing even this far away from the next Narnia film!

When it comes to the hair that the White Witch is wearing in battle, yes, that is Aslan’s mane. She is wearing it as a trophy, representing her kill. It’s a very striking image, when you think about what that represents. And the fact that she wears it almost as a mane herself, it’s almost in mockery of Aslan.

Q: Hey!!! I am a huge fan!!! My school did a project on the Chronicles of Narnia and I aced it!!! We studied C. S. Lewis, read his book “The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe” , and went on a school field trip to the movies last year to see the movie when it first came out!!! My favorite character is Peter. I think he is so brave and loyal…. not to mention the guy who plays him (William Moseley)! Can you tell me where I can find info on the characters of this movie and the up coming movies as well??? 🙂 g2g !!! T.T.Y.L. !!!

-Kalie

A: Thanks for the E-mail Kalie! I recommend that you continue to visit NarniaFans.com on a daily basis for all of the latest news on the Narnia movies and characters. Check out our Movie section for information on the cast and characters, and visit our news and archives for information about the movies that you might have missed.

Q: I would like to ask who sings the song when the train is leaving the train station, and the song is played again when Lucy is in the professor’s house (the only word I remember from the song is “one day” and it is sung by a woman with a very melodic voice that captivated me. I look forward to hearing from anyone who can tell me this info. thanks very much 🙂

-Jennifer

A: The artist that vocalizes that particular part of the music is one that has captivated many with her voice, in both The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and The Passion of the Christ, is an artist named Lisbeth Scott. She also performed the song “Where,” found on the soundtrack; a favorite of mine, that I wish was at least in the credits, as it really captures the magic of Narnia in the poetry of the lyrics and within the melody of her voice.

Q: Who will be Prince Caspian? Or have the audtitions started yet? Thanks!!

-Timothy Hodder

A: Auditions for Prince Caspian have continued after a few weeks to cut the numbers down from the first round. They’ve moved to another location and begun the process again, to find a few more hopefulls. We should know in the next month or so, as casting continues. Rest assured, this will be a huge cast, as this particular actor may play the role in both Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Q: Could you tell me if anyone makes full size replicas of Peter’s Helmet or armour. Email me back with you response.

-Justin Davidson

A: Here’s a question that I’m not sure of. If there’s anyone out there that reads this, and knows the answer (or makes the replicas) please e-mail us to let us know!

Q: Will there be a premiere of Prince Caspian in New York, if so do you know when?

-Tess

A: Well, the film comes out May 16, 2008, so it’ll be quite some time before we know if and when there will be one in New York. We should know in about 18 months. 🙂

Q: Who is Emily Ash..what a great poem?

-James

A: Well James, Emily Ash is a fan, just like you, who has written and submitted a great poem called “Who Knows?” to our poetry page. It takes a long time to get onto our fan section, as I have a lot of work that I do aside from NarniaFans.com, but still feel free to drop us some art or poetry! (Fan art will be a while, I need to find the time to re-work that section of the fan area.)

Q: Dear Site Owner,
Thankyou so much for answering my question about the Narnia contest! Unfortunately, I will not enter the contest because I’m under 18! But thanks for wishing me good luck. Hopefully, they will make another contest for all ages! Anyhoo, I have a couple of questions for you. I was wondering…. will the BAFTA ceremony be on t.v. on November, 26th, 2006? I would like to see which movie (hopefully Narnia!) won on the television! And on what channel will it be on? Will it be on the channel BBC? This is the other and last question: How did you guys found out that William Moseley is “christian?” Because he said in an interview that he didn’t know which religion he was, but he does believe in God. I thought he was Catholic. Well, please respond soon! THANKS!

-Narnia Fan

A: You’re welcome! When it comes to the BAFTA ceremony, I am not sure. I believe that it’s on TV in the UK, but I’m not sure which BBC, or when it’ll air. Hopefully someone can provide us with an answer.

As for William Moseley, he said as much in an interview. (Catholics ARE Christians, remember.) As for him being Catholic specifically, I am not sure. That’s a question for him. 🙂

And that’s it for Mailbag #15!
