The Grammy Foundation has released their picks for the 49th annual Grammy awards, and Narnia has received two nominations!
Harry Gregson-Williams, the film’s composer, has received a nomination for Best Score Soundtrack Album For A Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media. The award goes to the best original score created specifically for, or as a companion to, a current legitimate motion picture, television show, series or other visual media. The film is up against Hans Zimmer, composer for The Da Vinci Code, John Williams, composer of Memoirs Of A Geisha, John Williams, composer of Munich, and Hans Zimmer, who composed Pirates Of The Caribbean — Dead Man’s Chest.
Imogen Heap has been nominated for Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media for her song “Can’t Take It In.” This award goes to the best song (melody & lyrics) written specifically for a motion picture, television or other visual media and released for the first time during the Eligibility Year. Heap is running against by Melissa Etheridge who wrote “I Need To Wake Up” for the movie An Inconvenient Truth, Randy Newman who wrote “Our Town” for Cars, Mel Brooks for “There’s Nothing Like A Show On Broadway” for the remake of The Producers, and Dolly Parton who wrote “Travelin’ Thru” for Transamerica. “Can’t Take It In” was played during the movie’s credits.
