The website estimates that The Voyage of the Dawn Treader has sold $9 million which would give the movie a projected opening weekend of $26.3 million. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe sold $23 million opening day ($65.5 million opening weekend for a total of $745 million) and Prince Caspian sold $19 million opening day ($55 million opening weekend for a total of $419.6 million). If Deadline’s numbers are accurate the Voyage of the Dawn Treader may not be successful enough for Fox to make more Narnia movies, but there is something you can do about it. Opening weekend sales are a critical way to measure the success of a film. If you would like to ensure that The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is a success and that more Narnia Movies are made I strongly advise you to see the movie this weekend. I encourage you to take your entire family to the movies this Saturday or Sunday.
