News Roundup Part 3

Here’s several interesting reviews, special news from Joe McElderry, and a fun contest if you plan to go as a group to watch

the movie. Stay tuned!

Mirror.co.uk reviewed the movie, and they gave it 4/5 stars. Some notable excerpts are: “The latest Narnia film is a stirring seafaring adventure, full of derring-do, talking animals, dangerous sea serpents, dragons and enough action and adventure to make it a must-see family film for the festive period. It is a fantasy flick that will appeal to youngsters and is also smart and savvy enough to keep their parents happy.” … “The 3D effects are impressive and never heavy-handed and the action – especially the climactic battle against a sea serpent – thrilling. It’s thoroughly satisfying and enjoyable and leaves you wanting more…roll on (hopefully) the next in the series, The Silver Chair.” You can read the entire article HERE.

3news.co.nz wrote a very short review of the movie. “While this film is the weakest of the three, these stories are so fantastical and memorable, the books so beloved, that The Dawn Treader is still a good vessel to board for kids of all ages.” You can read the whole article HERE. The reviewer wrote that she gave the film 3/5 stars, but it shows 4 stars above the actual review, so I do not know for sure which is the correct one. I’ll hope it’s the 4. 😉

Here’s my favorite: Times Live reviewed the movie, and they said you can “Never [be] too old for Narnia.” Some of the best lines in the review are: “The success of the first two films has revitalised these books: they have now sold more than 100-million copies. The Pevensie children’s adventures in Narnia are in the same league as Harry Potter, Noddy, James Bond and the vampires of the Twilight saga.” Most of the review actually talks about C.S. Lewis’s background and about the entire series. It’s worth the read; you can read the whole article HERE.

Finally, Joe McElderry just tweeted (HERE is his account) that his songs “Someone Wake Me Up” and “There’s A Place For Us” are both up for purchase on iTunes! You can  see/preview them HERE.

Don’t forget, post as much as you can about the movie on Twitter, Facebook, Google Buzz, or wherever you want! If you tweet about it, use the #DawnTreader or #Narnia hashtags. Make sure all your friends know about it! If you can get a group together to go watch it, there is a contest available for you (thanks to Aslan’s Country for the tip!): http://www.narniaseries.com/ If you win, you will receive two Dawn Treader posters! There will be 5 winners.
