Advice to Potential Narnia Actors from Rynelf: Actor Tony Nixon

I’ve been really busy lately with a few awesome projects for my company.  Needless to say, big things are coming.  I wanted to share this article from Narnia actor Tony Nixon.  It’s more advice on getting a role in Narnia (or other films).

He writes:

Okay so their has been so much debate over next narnia film will it happen? Will it be the Silver chair? Will it be the Magicians Nephew?

It seems that finally the answer is it will happen and it will be the Magicians nephew (although nothing is definite by any means yet).

I have noticed that as soon as the possibility of a Narnia film being made the Narnia sites light up with “I want to be Jill pole”

“I want to be Polly Plummer” .. “I would love to be in a Narnia film” … “I would love to be an extra in a Narnia film”.

This then leads to the obvious questions … “How do I get an audition for a role”? “How do I get a job as an extra on a Narnia film”?

These questions go to the narnia sites and even to me through my Twitter account and my FB account http://www.facebook.com/TonyNixonOfficial?ref=mf

I’m going to try and outline a couple of things but before I do.

1) AS AN ACTOR WHO HAD A SMALL ROLE IN A NARNIA FILM I DO NOT HAVE ANY INSIDE INFORMATION.

2) I will pass on this advice I got from a casting director “DON’T LET ANYONE TELL YOU, YOU CAN BE A STAR … AND DON’T LET ANYONE TELL YOU YOU CANNOT”

I guess what he means is, whatever advise you get from anyone (including me) DON’T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS. We have all heard the story of the guy who got discovered working behind the counter at the local Deli, or the girl spotted in the school play. It can happen BUT it is unlikely.

SO HOW DO I KNOW WHEN A NARNIA FILM IS BEING CAST?

Well Walden / Fox MAY let the Narniaweb and Narniafans know when casting has begun, but I doubt they would tell them WHO is doing the casting. Allow me to explain.

  1. Very good!!! Great idea!!!
I will never be able to act in one of the films (though I doubt anyone has more passion for them than I do). But…I want to say that I hope they give someone new a chance. Someone who is not known yet. I am excited to see what happens!!!!! And…of course I would love to be in the movies…but that takes money…and somehow I am always short of that! 😉
