2014 C.S. Lewis Festival Focus on “A Quest for Meaning”

A Quest for Meaning  NARNIA (2014)October 24th kicks off this year’s weekend for the C.S. Lewis Festival that is now celebrating it’s twelfth year in  Petoskey, Michigan. There theme, “A Quest for Meaning” was chosen because they will have an advanced screening of a new documentary film about “myth, imagination and faith in the lives & literature of C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien.” This will take place a Petoskey Middle School Auditorium at 7:30 PM on the 24th (Friday night). This is a free event, but most of the other events are not.

On Saturday, October 25th they will have four sessions as part of a “Saturday Seminar” (click here for pricing details). It runs from 9 o’clock until 3 in the afternoon and includes a questions and answers panel discussion with Chip Duncan (one of the filmmakers of “A Quest for Meaning,” and scholars Dr. Verlyn Flieger and Dr. Peter Schakel. Each of these guest will also have their own session. All of these events are held at the North Central Michigan College Library Conference Center.

Among other happenings going on at this annual event is a presentation of Narnia: The Musical. It takes place on the evening of October 25th and afternoon of the 26th. Get ticket information for this and other events by visiting CSLewisFestival.org.
