Update: Unfortunately the press release is a forgery. The below is from a fake press release.
Joe Johnston IS directing, but most of the rest is false.
The start of filming for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair has been scheduled for November. The film will shoot for about five months in New Zealand, on both the North and South islands in New Zealand as well as at New Zealand’s Henderson Valley Studios. After the five-month shoot, a post-production schedule will follow (presumably beginning in late April or early May of 2018. This will lead into the film’s global release through Sony and Entertainment One (eOne).
Weta Digital and The Moving Picture company have been hired to handle the film’s CG characters under Visual Effects supervisor Robert Legato. Weta Workshop is going to be designing and building armor and weaponry under the direction of Richard Taylor.
Special effects make-up will be handled by Joel Harlow.
Directing the film is, again, Joe Johnston.
Producing the film are Mark Gordon, Douglas Gresham, Vincent Sieber and Melvin Adams.
Composing the score, we have Thomas Newman (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, Road to Perdition, Finding Nemo). Look for the score to be heavy on piano and violin, and to have very beautiful sound, if the mentioned films are anything to compare to.
Editing the film will be Robert Dalva.
Director of Photography is Shelly Johnson.
Production Designer is Andy Nicholson alongside designer Jacqueline West.
Nina Gold and Theo Park (Paddington and Star Wars: The Force Awakens) are the film’s casting directors.
