Longtime visitors to our website may know that we haven’t ever really had our own logo for NarniaFans.com. The only thing we had that kind of counted was our word art for “Narnia Fans” and that was pretty much it. I have had ideas for various things over the years, but nothing ever really came to mind.
A couple of years ago, I set about creating another fansite for another one of my favorite fandoms. This one was for a mobile game based on that fandom. And a logo for that came really easily to me. I sketched it up, and then handed that sketch off to a designer to have it turned into a logo. When it came back better than I could have imagined, I was very surprised and very happy. It wasn’t that I didn’t think the designer could do it, I knew that he had the skills to do it. The surprise was that it was exactly what I imagined.
The problem here wasn’t that he was delivering bad designs. No. The problem was that we loved almost every version of the logo he sent over. We now have a bunch of different designs we can use for various things.
Who designed the logo?
I found the designer over on Fiverr. His name is Rabi Chandro, and he’s from Bangledesh. If you’re looking for a logo design, I very highly recommend him. I’ve now used his services twice, and have hired him again for another logo project that I have. One really cool side effect of having him work on the Narnia Fans logo was that he watched the Walden Media-produced Narnia movies. He watched all three in two days and LOVED them all. That was a really cool side effect that I did not expect. It was really fun to see his response to the movies.
What’s next?
With the new logo taking the place of the huge background we had on the site, and the new forum software, the site should be running faster. We used to have an image of Aslan with snow, that covered the entire background of the website, and I am sure that caused the website to load a bit slower because of the size of that image.
We’re going to finish up work on the forum design, and incorporate the new logo there as well. And we’re going to start creating more content on a regular basis over here on the blog. We have a hunch that Netflix might start making progress on the Narnia projects sometime soon. So we’re going to continue preparing this website for that.
Let us know what you’d like to see us create next for Narnia Fans. We’re open to ideas and suggestions.
