The Death The Life

Poem: Up he trudged
He knew it was there
And as we watched
A single tear trickled
Down his cheek

Who would have known
It would end this way
With all this sufferring
This pain
All for us

Wasn’t their another way
Did it have to happen this way
He was going to die
What would we do
Without him

Who would have known
It would end this way
With all this suffering
This pain
All for us

As they surround him
I can’t watch
As his kingly mane falls
I cry
Why must it be this way
Why this death

Who would have known
It would end this way
With all this suffering
This pain
All for us

As she cries
I turn my face away
As the knife drops
I scream NO
But I can’t speak

Who would have known
It would end this way
With all this suffering
This pain
All for us

But as the dawn comes
The table stirs and cracks
And his body is gone
Wasn’t the death enough
Why this

Who would have known
It would end this way
With all this suffering
This pain
All for us

But as the sun rises
I hear a noise
And there he is
He has defeated Death
And save us

Who would have known
It would begin this way
With all this joy
This happiness
All because of Him
