We all know that the Chronicles of Narnia took place roughly during World War II, unless you are counting the early adventures in The Magician's Nephew. That doesn't mean we can't imagine how cheesy George Melies would have made the film series in, let's say, 1897 to 1903ish.

It would be fun to speculate about the earliest costume dramas similar to silent films of The Wizard of Oz, Frankenstein, and Alice in Wonderland being joined by a rousing tribute to the future stories of Narnia.
 
I think they would pretty much stick the hide and seek, the entry into the coats of the wardrobe, and the lamppost in the snow. It would all start to fall apart when a shirtless man with horns strapped to his head and fur covered jeans came out holding an umbrella.

Thing is, you don't have to be that skilled with a camcorder, phone, or youtube. In fact the worse you are, the better the film would be! (within reason). Having it in black and white with a scratch filter (think Adobe Premiere) and of course TITLE CARDS, would be hillarious.

I submit for your consideration Mary Pickford as Lucy and Tom Mix as Aslan... And it wouldn't hurt to have dogs dressed in beaver suits...
 
And we CAN'T leave out the piano music, such as this selection perfect for Lucy begging Aslan to save Edmund....
