What is the best Non-Fiction book about the Chronicles of Narnia that you have read?

Paul Ford’s award-winning Companion to Narnia is my fave non-fiction book on the Chronicles not only because of its breadth and depth of all things Narnia, but also because it is such a fun hodgepodge of Narnia-lore, only alphabetized. 😉

If I remember the title correctly, I enjoyed A Wardrobe, a Ring, and a World War. This book related the real-world wartime experiences of Mister Lewis and Mister Tolkien, in order to examine how their ordeals shaped both men's writing.

I think everybody knows that Sam Gamgee symbolizes the rough-edged "regular chaps" who were the backbone of the Royal Army.
