Hello to all of our wonderful writers!
In an attempt to keep the energy flowing in The Professor's Writing Club, I'm going to be starting a new writing contest. I always love roaming around this section and reading all the wonderful stories, but there haven't been very many writing competitions recently to challenge our talented writers.
I am pleased to announce that the genre for this writing contest will be...
Inspirational Stories!
Here are the Ground Rules and Guidelines:
1) Seeing as it is an inspirational story, your entry can either be fiction or non-fiction. It can be anything, from a true moment that spurred inspiration in your life to a heart-warming story about Draco Malfoy finally getting the courage to raise kittens; it's all fair game. The only thing that must be consistent is that there must be a moral aspect/element that inspires your readers in some way.
2) Your story can be anywhere from 300 to 3000 words, although short stories are preferred: novels can be great reads, but they can be rather cumbersome in a contest setting. If you do write a story that meets or slightly exceeds 3000, that's fine (for all I know, you could write the next epic masterpiece of the century), but try to keep it within the limits to make it easier on us readers and on the forum.
3) Forum rules apply to all stories, although I don't think that'll be a problem with any of you. You know the drill: No swearing, nothing inappropriate, keep it clean for our family-friendly forum.
4) Only one story can be submitted by each contestant. Quality, not quantity.
How do I submit my story?
Submitting your story is very simple.
First thing you have to do is post your work of art here in the Writing section. If it is a short story (one that fits on either one or two posts) then feel free to just post it in this thread. If it is a little longer, then go ahead and make a thread for it. In either case, once it is posted, send me a pm telling me you posted it and send a link with it so I can find it. I'll be putting the links to every contest entry in the very first post of this thread so all entries can be easily found and read.
If you wish to submit a story that you've already posted here in The Professors Writing CLub, then submitting your story is even easier. Just pm me the link.
You can submit your stories anytime from now until the contest closes on September 2nd. Hopefully this will give you guys enough time to contact your Muse's and kick out a great story (if not, let me know and I'll extend it a few days). Once it is closed, the voting process will begin for the Best Story.
Good luck! And start writing!
