I said on my "Worst Romance" thread that it's okay for you to write something there.

Greetings and salutations. I'll attempt to put forth the simplest way to upload an avatar.

Go to the User CP tab at the top left of the forum. Scroll down to "Settings and Options" on the left and find "Edit Avatar." If "use custom avatar" isn't already checked then check that. From there you can either use the "choose file" button to upload the avatar directly from your computer if you have it saved. Or if you have a link for it (which I can explain if you would like) then you can paste it in the box there.

Avatars are 80x80 pixels, and the file absolutely has to be that or the forum won't let you upload it. If you find a picture you like and it isn't the proper size just send it on over to me and I can fix that for you.

Good question, Anna! It's been quite a while since I set up my avvy, so I have asked Gondorgirl, the graphics mod, to get back to you on how to set up your avatar (probably tomorrow). She will also be updating the avvy and signature instructions in our New Member Guide, so it is more straightforward and tuned into the current configurations of our forum.
