    Was the Frolic inappropriate?

If the frolic were inappropriate, I wouldn't want to believe in an Aslan who thought such. What's the point of joyfully serving the lord if you can't be joyful?

THE VISITOR: a Story From the Author of Byron on Wells

I think part of this is this is just not a widely trafficked forum anymore, and so you have to temper your expectations accordingly with regards to your audience response. I know for a fact that you're a talented writer and put a lot of effort into your work, and I understand that it feels like...

Narnia movie already doomed for failure? Aslan to be female???

Agreed, but Netflix is even more so. They can tell if a movie is going to make or lose money based on registering viewer interactions after 5 seconds of video play time. They can tell if a series is going to be profitable or not an hour after it goes live, and will renew a series or cancel it...

Narnia movie already doomed for failure? Aslan to be female???

What new film? When they come out with something, then maybe. But Netflix has been known to pick up, drop, pick up, drop , pick up and drop movies in the span of a year, even with movies that have "rumored casts." They've also been very good at leaking bad info just to get people talking...

Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings? (Books Only)

I don't think that's ruthless at all. Rowling's target audience were not adults, and as her books progress, the reading levels and themes get more and more adult, but they are all the way through directed at kids. I would say you CAN enjoy Harry Potter as an adult (I choose not to for my own...

children as protagonists of war fiction

A few things to note.. In the Enders game series, it's important that when he was first being trained in the stories Earth was in a battle of annihilation, and the older players in the story were already getting wiped out by the bugs. The use of children in military training was a last shot...

    Concerns about Netflix's Narnia

Being woke or not being woke isn't the issue. It just won't sell. These streaming companies have incredibly detailed information on you, the user. They can track when you watch, what you watch, how many exact seconds of what components you watch, whether or not you skip or don't skip parts...

You don't have to be Christian to love Narnia

I mean you don't have to be christian to love it, no. But it's definitely a very christian focused series and a lot of it makes more sense if you ARE Christian. Quite possibly an unpopular comment in this exact setting but it's a far better christian fantasy novel series than it is a fantasy...
