Peculiarities of the Russian Language

This topic has been stowed away in the attic for a long time. Since language learning is an important activity, I would like new members to see how I set out to explain language mechanics.

OUT OF THE ATTIC AT LAST!!!!!

Beginning _before_ I joined The Dancing Lawn-- in fact, before I retired from the Navy-- I created a Russian-language graphic novel intended to help military linguists improve their fluency with _written_ Russian. My then-still-living first wife Mary suggested that I try creating a a version in _English,_ which might even make money for us.

Anyone who has noticed my new story-thread "The Land of the Fractured Rainbow," or the news thread "Ashplant, Out of Dry Ground," understands that I'm trying to get more of my creativity out there before I catch the divine elevator to Aslan's Country. Well then, be watching the Writing Club for "The Continued Adventures of Ilya Muromets." This will be the same in substance as my hand-drawn and hand-lettered work (in English here, of course), but will include some scenes never included before.

This very evening, I saw the arrival of an ACTUAL RUSSIAN GUY on the forum. His username translates as "Golden Impulse something." I hope he doesn't turn up his nose at my use of Russian heroes in stories.
