Narnia In what order should the Chronicles of Narnia be read?

I read The Magician's Nephew out of publication order, but I think I would recommend publication order to people. It's just a different experience and I do think that it makes TMN mean much more to the reader at the time.

    Superheroes and Supervillains

    I take offense to this.

    Superheroes and Supervillains

Night Thrasher is one of my favorites: Night Thrasher is the founder and leader of the New Warriors, and head of the Taylor Foundation.

Once a Queen in Narnia, always a queen.

According to what I can see online, mind you I have not read the book myself, but Nikabrik prepares to begin a ritual to resurrect her in Prince Caspian, but is killed before being able to do so.

She can be resurrected, I believe.

You know, you're right. Jadis will always be a Queen.

There is an unofficial 8th book out there.

All New Harry Potter Thread post July 15, 2011

They certainly do have some interesting positions. I do plan on checking them out and, once I do catch up to them, I should be able to actually finish the books in a reasonable amount of time. Sort of like homework.

Book Fan? Or Movie Fan? Or both?

At the risk of being unpopular, I'd like a new book series or comic books or something.

Article and Analyses of the Walden Films

I disagree. I think that that scene in the film illustrated why her being their sister should have been enough to go on, especially when pointing out that Edmund wasn't usually the more trustworthy one. In my opinion, what really hurt Professor Kirke was simply not using him enough. We only see...

I think LWW will always be my favorite just for nostalgia's sake alone.

Article and Analyses of the Walden Films

I thought the casting was absolutely fantastic. I'm not sure why that article continues to use language that suggests otherwise.

Book Fan? Or Movie Fan? Or both?

I would have at least liked to have seen the revelation that was lurking in the Professor's past be revealed.

Book Fan? Or Movie Fan? Or both?

A huge problem with the films, good though they are, is that we didn't get all of them. It is as if the studio lacked faith in their own creation.

Book Fan? Or Movie Fan? Or both?

I've been watching LWW like religiously since it was released.

    CS Lewis and Enid Blyton

I don't agree that any of that is really relevant at all. Unless, we're discussing those specific things about him. Which, this thread does not seem to pertain to.

    Christmas 2021

The holiday season is always a good time to see how others choose to look at it. If church is good for anything it certainly is bringing people together in a safe, happy environment. At least, so far as I can tell.

    Christmas 2021

Damn, this post makes me hate time passing the way it does. Well, as we try to move past that sad realization, Merry Christmas to my fellow Narnia-heads, I am thankful that I found a community to talk Narnia with, which was something I was truly lacking when I undertook the job of reading and...

    CS Lewis and Enid Blyton

I don't really care for Lewis as a person, but I think it's disingenuous to say that his writing is supposed to be some sort of commentary on race or interstate relations.

All New Harry Potter Thread post July 15, 2011

I do not care. I think you need to separate the artist from the art. It does not permeate through in the content itself, so that is about all we need. As far as this podcast, it sounds exactly like the type of thing I love to do. I love dissecting the content I am interested in, but I have not...
