I'm sorry for getting emotional. Many guys writie women pretty badly in ways that indicate that they think women are only good for the bedroom.

I'm sorry. I was emotional trying to defend Jack on tumblr. I wore myself out but this person was immovable.

I only wish Lewis had actively sought out women to look over how he had written the girls in his Narnia books. it would have caught some difficulties apparent to even girls and women who understand that Lewis was only human. FYI: I am intersex, not female in real llife - much of me is female...

    CS Lewis and Enid Blyton

most of the cogs in Hitler's murder machinery were ordinary people not monsters. They went home each night and were hugged by their little young daughter in her dress and clutching her teddy bear... that's part of why a lot of people don't want to face that part of it. torturers in today's...

@Copperfox @Specter the recent academic and left-liberal activist attacks on Dr Suess condemn him because "whites risked their lives to speak out and fight racism and segregation" but conveniently leave out that these whites were comparatively neither substantial nor significant in numbers...

    Concerns about Netflix's Narnia

There's *some* blank canvas about the Pevensie monarchy period but Netfllix should remember that greed, heedless of caution, lures many a man to his death.

Judaism came before either Christianity or Islam. Jesus himself was a Jew.

@Copperfox My great-grandfather was left permanently disabled after German Emperor William II's army sent gas into his trench. He and his mates would have regarded the sentimental defeatism of pacifism with utter contempt.

@Copperfox As i said. the problem is that they are NOT just changing terminology but making judgement calls as to content. My own personal feeling when someone calls Mister Lewis an "Islamophobe" or claims he uses the Calomenes as a stand-in for Arabs is this:

    Concerns about Netflix's Narnia

Without Judaism, neither Christianity nor Islam would even exist, so i don't have much time for claims i see in the press and online that we need special legal protections for Islam but none for Jews being denigrated. Or, indeed for the Christians that are being denigrated in the Islamic world -...

    According to Jim

I first saw Jim Belushi in Curly Sue (I always thought Sue should have warned the lawyer lady who wants her as a daughter: "that sleaze ball wanting you for love doesn't have to do anything to you. He just has to get rid of *me*").

    According to Jim

Jim Belushi sitcom series from 20 years ago. Kept ABC afloat through syndication sales for much of ABC's low period in the '00s It was nice to see Belushi's TV daughters post a then and now pic of themselves for fans of the show. Though the "younger sister" is prettier today IMHO.

    Concerns about Netflix's Narnia

I despise those who treat islam as "progressive" and "peaceful". The culture in Muslim countries (excluding Albania) is actually very toxic. They are also only able to claim Islam as a "religion of peace" by downplaying or ignoring the numerous sacred texts of Islam that support violence.

The Bad Seed (Rhoda Penmark) book/Broadway play/films

Technically, The Bad Seed is fantasy as genetic evil cannot happen in real life. https://artsandculture.google.com/search/asset?q=Bad%20seed&p=life-photo-collection

Star Wars -- ONE thread for all Star Wars - ALL Star Wars here

@Specter I was watching Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory the other night and I kind of wish i could read a fic where Palpatine gets reduced to the size of a candy bar and in the middle of ranting is then put in a ladies' handbag like happens to Mike Teevee.

1967 ABC (UK) Version of LWW

@Benisse this adaption is the example i use when i remind people that ITV (e.g. Granada, Rediffusion, Thames, ATV and other franchisees) junked a lot of old stuff as much as the BBC.
