    CS Lewis and Enid Blyton

Yes, I find it absurd when the old money is 'converted' as obviously the purchasing power of (for example) 2/- was greater in 1930 than 10p today. If necessary, one could have a short intro with metric and decimal conversions, but that would still be insufficient for explaining purchasing power...

    CS Lewis and Enid Blyton

The Enid Blyton copyright holders have this on the official site: "we work to ensure that there are no offensive terms in the books, while retaining the original language as far as is possible. This enables a very wide international audience of children to enjoy the books, while also...

I was in a nativity play in my kindergarten. They don't do that anymore.

    Classic Doctor Who (1963-89/96)

@Copperfox I wouldn't mind seeing a Classic Doctor Who/Looney Tunes meet-up. How about it, Big Finish?

    Classic Doctor Who (1963-89/96)

@Copperfox I haven't listened myself but apparently this podcast podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/doctor-who-42-to-doomsday/id687051777 Believes an episode or 2 of Doctor Who has been found in Australia. They don't say which, very much rumour. Don't get excited but it's always fun when this...

ASB WI: the transporter/transmat beam with all the tribbles is redirected from the Klingon ship to Palpatine's office just as Yoda enters in ROTS?

    Classic Doctor Who (1963-89/96)

@Copperfox many actors who have played the Doctor have said that the Doctor - not unlike Sherlock Holmes - is a difficult character to get inside of and that extended time in the role takes its toll. Tom Baker should have left in Season 15 or 16 , about Pertwee's length.

    Classic Doctor Who (1963-89/96)

I love how Peter Davison (the fifth Doctor) pointed out (he also points out a plot hole in “Timelash” for Behind the Sofa) that the Doctor and Co. waste valuable time having a nice chat with the shrunken Master on Sarn in "Planet of Fire" - whereas as if they’d just grabbed him and quickly...

The Emperor is a Sith, and a very skilled Sith. He should have foreseen the Ewoks potentially messing up his plan and have been prepared for it.

The Marketplace of Technique: Open to All

*nothing* is as bad as that Classic Doctor Who fanfic in an old fanzine where the Roger Delgado incarnation of the Master turns out to have been Adolf Hitler. Though given that yesterday we found out that he had been Rasputin, maybe i shouldn't judge...

Every planet destroyed or devastated by Palpatine and his goons such as Alderaan, Caamas, Mandalore et al, suddenly reappears, planet and population completely unharmed, just as Luke is speaking the words "Your Highness" in ROTJ.

Another supernatural scenario: All Imperial ships, freighters, and fighters (with the exception of the ship Darth Vader is on) and Imperial and Imperial loyalist military and militia forces disappear at the moment Obi-Wan and Luke are first watching the "Help Me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only...

I'm just imagining the look on Mace's face as he and the other enter Palpy's office to arrest the Chancellor only to find it completely empty as old Sids is now on Tattooine in the Outer Rim with no light saber, weapons or personal communication devices upon his person. Anakin is flying on his...

I was thinking of a teleportation through space scenario. Just as Mace and the others are about to enter his office to arrest him, Palpy is instantly teleported to the ground just outside the main settlement on Tatooine. His clothes and shoes come with him. His light saber and any communication...

When i watch Star Wars/A New Hope i can't help but wonder how many of Leia's Alderaanian friends are still alive at the end of the movie. In the expanded universe/Legends, about sixty thousand Alderaanians survive because they were lucky enough to be off-world - but that's less than a clock tick...
