I came across some information on what is called the The Lefay Fragment, which is a different beginning to The Magician Nephew written by Lewis where Digory was able to talk with animals while still in England. Does anyone know if this is a forgery? It does seem to highlight Lewis' trouble...
I just got the new DVD of the animated version. I remember it was so cool when I first saw it almost 30 years ago. But I was young. The voices weren't even British.
Let's make a separate Thread for TS3. I saw it tonight. Good to see the old gang. Kind of scary, not really for preschool. Don't want to be a spoiler, but it was not too hard to see who would save the day.:)
I recently went through "The Problem of Pain" again. Though it has some good defenses of Christianity it is in no way as good as "Mere Christianity". Its worse flaw is describing the origin of Man and the origin of sin. Because once again Lewis takes the view that God somehow uses evolution...
Who loves Winnie-The-Pooh and A. A. Milne? I thought I would make a tread for that silly old bear. I think Milne and lewis have a similar writing style.:D
This is the movie forum, but I don't see anyone taking about movies in general that are in the theaters now. Well I hear Inglourious Basterds is the top movie in the box office now so I will use that as an opener. People at church were talking about it today. But since it is rated R, I can't...
I just got The Nightmare before Christmas DVD. I always love the movie, but if you are expecting a great 2 DVD edition, sorry to disappoint you. And if you own a Zune, the digital copy doesn't work on it.
I have always loved the character of Puddleglum. His appearance and his dry humor. On screen he will be much like Mr Tumnus, but instead of being half goat and half man, he is half frog and half man. So how the use computer graphics to shape the character will be interesting. In the BBC...
In Mr. Tumnus book review of TMN, how does the origin’s of the Witch in TMN contradict what is told to the children in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. :)
I got my The Little Mermaid DVD. I always liked that animated movie. It has a lot of nice features. I love audio commentaries. :) Anyone else by the DVD set yet?
If VDT is made, which is almost for sure, will Georgie and Skandar be too old. Will they change the fact that Caspian ages 3 year and the two Pevensie's age only 1 year. In the BCC they changed the actor for Caspian. And we will have a new bad boy gone good in Eustace. They can't keep...
I saw it first in 1983, I was in my 20's. A church group showed it to us to encourage us to understand and read Christian fiction. The BBC version wasn't made for another 5 years. Hey there is a recipe for Turkish Delight in the DVD of the BBC version. See if you like it now. :p
I just got done listening to LWW on CD for Thankgiving. And once again I saw Lewis make a swipe at schools. Apparently Edmund started going bad because of a new school he was going to. And one of the new sovereigns main accomplishment was that they "liberated young dwarfs and young satyrs from...
