I may be the only person excited about this because I know a lot of people don't love this movie, but because I am such a devoted Jared fan- he is so wonderful in this movie and I can't wait to see more of him to come! (plus a lot more colin):

Since the success of "Brokeback Mountain", gay sexual content in movies is becoming less of a taboo "don't go there" style concern to more of a potential cash cow idea. That would explain the news today over at The IMDb that Director Oliver Stone is planning to release a third version of his "Alexander" epic released in 2004.

Stone insists the cinematic version of his Alexander the Great biopic was hampered by time constraints after being slashed to 168 minutes in length. He originally wanted to release the movie in its original three-hour form but concerned studio bosses forced him to axe scenes containing homosexual content.
 
The thing is the movie Alexander was quite terrible and I don't see why Stone keeps bringing down his name by releasing different editions of it.

Many people were shocked by the homosexual content in Alexander, but that was a part of Alexander the Great's life and to have a movie show that part of his life made me happy. But Oliver Stone played the relationship up too much and failed to focus on other major aspects of Alexander's life.

His pursuit of Darius and his treatment of his enemy's wife and daughters was completely overlooked and that was a huge part of Alexander's life. Only his first marriage was highlighted when his later marriages were equally as important.

Hephaistion's role in Alexander's life was a major thing. And Oliver Stone captured that well, but (even minus any actual love scenes) their relationship forced other, more important factions into the background.

This movie had the potential to be good, but badly cast actors, poor script, and important events removed due to time constraints made it completely tank.

I'm sorry I actually enjoyed the film, but I think if you think what I posted was too full of content...I think everyone who bothers to read this thread should be able to handle it...I mean look at what's on the news it isn't even as bad as that!
 
It depends on what a mod thinks. I could be wrong, but one of the reasons I haven't seen it is because of what is depicted and the R rating.

Yes,people shouldn`t be talking gay sexual things on a family friendly forum.
 
Exactly. Two-three other threads have been locked because of the discussion of a certain person's sexual orientation in the Christianity threads.
