A Story

Alright, I'm totally new at this, but this just pooped into my head. If you guys have ever read or seen HOOT, then you might find this familiar, cause that's where the story sprang from. But it doesn't have owls, I promise. I'll give you a summary. Here it is. (Oh, and I don't have a title. I'm not good on titles.)

Everyone family has a secret. Even a perfect one.
When Mical moves to a sleepy South Carolina town, he has no idea that the move will change his life forever. He gets a phone call from his college-student brother, whom he hasn't seen in five years. Soon he's spiraling down in a gut wrenching roller coaster of hidden pasts, white horses, and mysterious black-trench-coated men. And it all has to do with this girl running through the super market...

Ok, I don't know how this thing will turn out, It probably won't turn out at all, but if you want to read it, post and tell me.

Thanks!

(Oh, and this is my 1st thread, and my first story ever posted on ANYTHING. So if it's really bad...)

Cool! Alright, I'll post the first chapter. And Chlo, I love your sig, that's one of my favorite lines from Narnia.

"I'm goin' out mom!" Mical called down the hallway of his new house. His mom yelled back a 'sure!' and he raced outside. Looking around, he couldn't imagine why anyone would want to move to South Carolina, of all places. It was nothing but cows, trees, horses, and dirt roads. Or atleast that's how it was in this small town. He couldn't remember the name, he thought it was something like...Lowrys? What a name.
He started to trek down the dirt road, muttering to himself that when it rained, these roads would go all muddy, and keep them trapped on that big hill of theirs for a week. It wasn't a very long walk to the only peice of civilization, Al's One Stop convenience store. He yanked open the door, and slammed it behind him, almost knocking Al's warning bell off the wall. Al didn't say anything, just went about his business. A young clerk behind the counter looked suprised, but backed off when Mical glared at him.
Mical walked to the back of the store, and stared at the rows and rows of candy. He started to reach for a Hersheys, but he heard a noise. It was like a sob, and it startled him. It was coming from the back room. He tiptoed toward it, making sure Al or the clerk didn't see him. He ducked in the room and almost had a head on collision with a girl. She was dressed in a long, tattered, black skirt, and a dirty white shirt that looked as though it was stained with blood. She wore no shoes, and her feet were bleeding. Her hair was honey blonde, and looked as though it had never been cut, and her eyes were a grayish greenish bluish color that Mical couldn't identify.
She couldn't have been older than 11, and she was crying.
"Hey, are you ok?" whispered Mical, his anger fading at the sight of this pitiful girl.
She looked up, startled, and then, without a word, bolted for the door. Mical wasn't fast enough to catch her, and she made it outside. Al was yelling at her to stop, didn't her mother teach her any manners? Mical leaned against the doorway to the back room, speechless. She was the fastest runner he had ever seen.

Dang you! Just leave me on a cliffhanger! :((

Thanks for the compliment :D It's my all time favorite quote!

Now don't be evil and leave me hanging here!

Alright, I know I don't deserve to post, but here:
~~~~~~
Mical eased open the screen door, trying not to let his mom here him. She would want him to help unpack, and he needed to think. He had almost made it to his room, when the phone rang. He sighed. So much for that.
He picked it up and said in a bored tone,
"Hello?"
The answer suprised him.
"Micky?"
He coudn't speak for a moment, and simply listened to the person on the other line repeat his nickname over and over. Finally he found his toungue.
"Don?" he ground out, his brother's name feeling strange in his mouth.
"Micky! My man, how you doin?"
His voice didn't sound half as friendly as his words were.
"I'm fine Don. What-"
"Hey, Micky, that's great! Look bro, you think you could do me a favor?"
Mical hesitated. Don's 'favors' were usually a big source of trouble for him.
But the family hadn't spoken to Don in five years. Mical guessed thay owed him that.
"Sure Don, what is it?"
"Aw, Micky, I knew you'd come through for me buddy! Look, I need help finding someone. You and mom are already in South Cakalacky, right?"
"Yes," Mical laughed. His brother came up with the weirdest names.
"Good. I need you to be on the lookout for a girl. She's twelve; one of my college friend's sister, and he thinks she might be near you guys. She's got blonde hair and greenish blue eyes. She's a fast runner, and as skittish as a rabbit around most people. She's with a boy, about 13, your age. If you see them, you'll let me know, right?"
Mical felt as though his mouth was made of lead. Something in his brother's tone didn't sound right. He wouldn't tell him about the girl yet.
"Sure, I'll tell you." he said, his voice coming out squekier(sp?) then he had meant it.
"Good."
I'm back. I shouldn't be on here,but I just got new inspiration!
"Krystyn?" a young voice called from a run-down shed in a cornfield.
"I'm here," called another.
A young girl steped through the shed door, her golden hair spilling over her shoulders and catching the light so she looked like an angel.
"I had a close call with a kid in the store, Wolfie, but I got away," she said, reaching for the boy's arm. It was bleeding from a deep gash and he shuddered and moaned when she touched it.
"Sorry. I got some Tylenol, and a bottle of water, but that's all I could steal before they saw me. I found this cloth in a box behind the shed," She said, as she wrapped strips of the old fabric around his arm. She watched his face carefully. His eyes were tightly shut against the pain, so she couldn't see the beautiful color that they were. It was something between brown, blue or lavender, but she could never tell. She brushed a peice of his sweat soaked strawberry blonde hair out of his face. If that fever didn't come down soon, she didn't know what she would do. She felt his arm slowly start to go limp in her hand, and she shook his shoulder gently.
"Hey! Wake up Wolf!"
He didn't move.
Drawing her hand back, she did what she had to do often, and hated doing.
She slapped him. So hard that a red mark immediately began to form on his cheek, and she thought she might have drawn blood. He jumped up startled, then moaned from the pain in his arm as he fell back against his fishing net bed.
"I'm sorry Wolfie," murmered Krystyn.
Wolfie just smiled.
I know, it might not fit, but it'll work out.
