Anybody remember the show V?

Back in 1984 there was this tv show V. I remember I always was sitting in front of the tv with my family. We were all extremely excited about the show. I wonder if anybody remember it or has seen it?
*SPOILERS*:
It was about aliens who came to the earth in peace. but they were everything except peaceful. Diana was the leader and she was evil. Donovan was one of the people who were fighting against them.

Note that here I use bold, as tutored by PK

"V" had a great heroic-sounding theme tune; and, like an echo of World War Two, there were imaginary TV news broadcasts depicting the worldwide progress of the war against the Visitors. Note also that there were some of the aliens who had moral objections to enslaving other planets, and who therefore changed sides and helped the Earthlings.

I liked it that the evil aliens were not made 101 percent unbeatable. They had superior technology, but not of such quality and quantity as to have made it impossible for humans to resist effectively. The first and second Star Trek shows grew tedious with all the super-duper-omnipotent-omniscient aliens they featured in almost every other episode; but in "V" the humans could actually do some damage to their enemies. This in turn reminds me of the lament of Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart in "Doctor Who": "Just once, I'd like to meet an alien menace that wasn't immune to bullets!"

Da Badgie he think it jes fine, dontcha know! :D

I was also a junkie of the original Twilight Zone. I caught a couple of the old "Outer Limits" shows but since they didn't go into syndication here, well, not much to report.

"V" was more or less in the 1970's, give or take a couple of decades. One of its principal actors, Michael Ironside, went on to accumulate sci-fi movie credits including Total Recall and Starship Troopers.

Oh yes! I remember those as well!! They always had kind of mysterious episodes.

I have seen V in 1984 on tv.

I remember V quite well. One of the things I liked about it was that not all the aliens wanted to enslave humans, and some helped the human resistance fighters. So the alien visitors were a bit different from the usual one dimensional baddies.

The most interesting character was a girl called Elizabeth (I think!) who was part human and part visitor and had several special powers like telekinesis. Sadly some of the plot lines developed around her never actually came to anything so I found the end of the series a bit disappointing

YEAH!!! You mean the girl with the long hair? I remember her also very well. And also when she was born and the other baby who was alien. I remember Martin was a good one and Willy as well. Indeed. Not all aliens were mean and some were even more good than some humans.

I remember the show very well as it was a favorite of mine while it was on. It starred Mark Singer, Michael Ironside. It also starred Robert Englund who played Willie, a kind of emotionally and mentally slow alien. Later that year Robert when on to start starring in his most notable role, that of Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street horror movies.

Yes that's the one I meant. I remember that some of the friendly aliens belonged to this forbidden religion (I think it was called Vom) that forbade killing. Elizabeth (the girl who was part alien) was supposed to have some connection to Vom but that was sadly never followed up

It has been a while ago. I remember we saw how she grew up, and how they wanted her to use her powers. But you are right. The ending was poor.
If I remember it well, martin was killed. He was alien but on the side of Donovan. I liked him because he was good and more quiet.

Yes carl, I know :D Everybody said: Did you know Robert Englund played in V? He was Willy
