Character descriptions!?

All right... I know that not everybody likes it and it is technically "illegal" but I am writing a Narnia fanfiction. Now, I know how the order of the children goes, but is there any way we can guess their ages? It is never specified in the books, and I don't want to blow their ages out of proportion.

So what about physical traits? In the books Lucy is the only one said to have "fair" hair (meaning blonde). But in the movies, both she and Peter had blond(e) hair. My fic is a mix of the books and movie, so what am I supposed to go off of?

All right, if you haven't read The Last Battle, I'm warning you now for spoilers.

At the end, Aslan tells the childern there really had been a train accident, and their bodies had died. However, while reading I believe it says that only Professor Digory, Aunt Polly, Lucy, Jill, and Eustace were on the train, while Peter and Edmund were not. Yet everyone ended up with Aslan. So who really died/did Peter and Edmund die as well?

Last, let's go to the 4 childrens' rule in Narnia. I've read the books each quite a few times, and I keep imagining the children ruling for several years, not just 20 or so. Is there anyone who knows for sure how long they ruled?

I just want to make sure I get the facts straight.

Okay, I'm going to try to answer some of your questions  . And there might be spoilers in my post so....

I think along with the others you mentioned (and the Pevensie's parents), Peter and Edmund died also. Here's a quote from pg. 173 in The Last Battle, "...Well, it's not very easy to describe, is it, Edmund?" said the High King.
"Not very," said Edmund. "It wasn't at all like that other time when we were pulled out of our own world by Magic. There was a frightful roar and something hit me with a bang, but it didn't hurt. And I felt not so much scared as-well, excited. Oh-and this is one queer thing. I'd had a rather sore knee, from a hack at rugger. I noticed it had suddenly gone. And I felt very light. And then-here we were."

Okay, and I have a chart from a companion book (It's called Companion to Narnia by Paul F. Ford) that lists the ages of the children, it says:
Peter was 13 in LWW, 27 in HHB, 14 in PC and 22 in LB.
Susan was 12 in LWW, 26 in HHB, 13 in PC and 21 during LB.
Edmund was 10 in LWW, 24 in HHB, 11 in PC, 12 in VDT and 19 in LB.
Lucy was 8 (almost 9) in LWW, 22 in HHB, 9 in PC, 10 in VDT and 17 in LB.

I think the Pevensies left Narnia a year after HHB took place, so I guess that would be 15 years.

As far as the hair color goes, I'm not sure, in the book it says Lucy has fair hair, but I think that she's the only one the book describes (hair color-wise). I always pictured Peter and Lucy having golden/light brown hair and Susan and Edmund with dark brown hair. But I'm not sure if the book mentions anything about them.

I recommend that you get the Companion to Narnia book that I mentioned above. It might help you with your story. I hope I helped :) .

HHB happens during the Golden Age of Narnia(sometime after the Battle of beruna but before the Hunt for the White Stag). They grew up in Narnia but when they went back through the Wardrobe at the end of LWW they went back to their ages in ou world. So that is why in LB they are younger than they were in HBB.

Hope this helps.
