Does anyone else have the 'Companion to Narnia' book? It is really cool and nice...

I do. And it proves very handy when you forget how to spell Puddleglum.

I have it. Actually I'm nerd enough to have both the full companion at home and the pocket companion with me in my bag wherever I go. It's easily the best buy I made all year.

Oh, here we go again. AFAIK that's only traceable to a single letter that he wrote, in a response to a child who had spotted that this was the chronological order of the events in the books, and it could easily be explained away as Lewis not wanting to hurt the child's feelings. There are some pretty good arguments for reading them in the order they were published, rather than chronological order (and I go with that although, in my case, I read them in extremely odd order and I think HHB was the last one I caught up with!).

I have the Companion. It is a great book, especially for someone who is reading the Chronicles for the first time.
