Hello there

My name is Cath and I am from Manchester in England. This is my first time on a forum so sorry if I make any mistakes!

I have been trying to locate the 1979 animated version of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe with the voices of the English actors, Sheila Hancock as the White Witch, Leo McKern as the Professor and Leslie Phillips as Mr Tumnus, all to no avail. The only one available on DVD and recent repeats on the telly is the American voiceovers.

Please, please, please can anyone help me to locate it, it reminds me of my childhood as I used to watch it everyday when I came home from school whilst eating my tea (aww) and can take part in it!!.

Hope someone can help me.

Cheers
Cath

Hey there, Cath B! Welcome to the site(I hope you decide to stay for things other than this. but welcome jsut the same.).

I've looked for the version that you mentioned, with the British voice actors, and I am sorry to say that I could not find it. I did a search on Amazon.com and then another on Google.com. And I couldn't find an animated version with the voiceovers that you are looking for. I only found the one with the American voice actors. I'm terribly sorry. If there is anything else I can do to help, please just let me know.

(Don't forget to look around the rest of the site before you leave! We love new faces around here.)

Thank you all for your warm welcome and thank you for replying.

I had a feeling that it wouldn't be easy to track this version down, I've got a horrible feeling that it may have been deleted or lost somewhere!!!

If you do come upon a copy though could you please let me know, I'll still keep searching.

Thank you

Cath

Welcome to the site Cath B. (even if you are from Lancashire!!! :D )

I'd never heard of the animated series before coming on this site so I didnt even know they existed. I'll go do a bit of research online and see what comes up then I'll get back to you!!

I actually have the one you're looking for on video (actually this clears up my confusion as to why the cast list is different on this website). I've had it for years, and have no idea how you could get hold of a new one. However, my brother in law is a bit of a technical wizz, and if he can make a copy (I think you can do that with videos?) then I'll have him make one up for you. It make take some time, but I won't forget. If I have any luck, I'll let you know on this forum. Fingers crossed :)

Thanks for that Sam I really appreciate it. I've been trying to get hold of this for ages but so far had no luck (don't think many people remember it).

Long live Lancashire (oh aye!!!)!!!
