According to NarniaFans, British comedian Eddie Izzard will be doing the voice for Reepicheep.

I am not sure about this pick. His voice is not right for me.

He's an English comedian. I'll admit that I find him really funny, although it's definitely not family-friendly entertainment (his language shocked me when I first heard him, and I'm a university student...). I'm witholding judgment on him as Reep; he might be able to pull it off. I have never associated him with Narnia, though. ;) But then, I never would have pictured Georgie Henley as Lucy before I saw the movie, and now I can see that she's perfect, so I'll trust the casting director for now.

Just as long as he plays him straight. I will cry if Reep becomes a joke.

Yes, but as long as he can pull off Reep correctly, I don't care who he is...but if he doesn't. Wdll that just would not be a good thing, and I would have to hide my Reep-fan-ness in a jar for all eternity...*sighs*

But, could one of you (who knows who the actor is) give me a link to something he was in or tell me what he sounds like? Because I'm an American and have never heard of this guy before...

Some of the movies he played in are enough to make me doubt him and his voice wouldn't suit the role well...but, I guess the only way we're shall know is by waiting and hoping that he *somehow* does it right.;)

I think he'll be great. Adamson made what I thought were bizarre choices in LWW, and they all turned out super, so I think this will be OK, too.

Reepicheep is NOT a chipmunk!

I don't know about speeding up this actor's voice for Reep. I've always imagined Reep's voice as high-pitched, but not as high as, say, Alvin's.

Another concern is how Reep himself is going to be portrayed. Hopefully he won't come off as a buffoon. It doesn't help my worries that his voice is being supplied by a comedian. Reep has DIGNITY, dignity that he vigorously defends.

Well, I worried about Aslan and Lucy and they turned out all right...here's hoping the same will be true of Reepicheep...

Wish we could see some PICTURES. Is he really going to be white?

Hey, Judy, haven't seen you in a while. No, I heard he has white and tan in his fur, but is not predominantly white. I think they couldn't make him black (like he is in the book, isn't he?) because it's hard to show the expressions on an all black face.

I share your concerns about their not making Reep into comic relief, but I am trusting Adamson on this casting.

What, trust Adamson and ruin all our worry parties?! Seriously, though, when I think of how easy it would be to make Reep into a joke, I cringe at the thought...

I also hope that he doesnt mess up this part, but I mean nowadays i bet they could do anything to the mans voice to make it sound more reep-ish.... I mean look at what they did for LOTR and movies like that, also this guy as some nominations for awards and awards, so he must be a good actor. right?
