Edmund-the best charcter

You are not the only one who thinks he is the best character in all the books (even though I have not read all books) for I think the way you do that he is the best character in everything.

My reason

Hello!
The reason I think that Edmund is because he was the deepest charcter in the book. He was also very human and Aslan redeemed him by his death. I love all the charcters though!
God bless you all!!!!!!!!

Edmund is definitely my favorite character, and I think he is the most realistic and believable character.

I have to agree, Edmund is my favorite character, and I do think he's the best. Peter's perfect. I mean, he's the one we strive to be, but Edmund is more human, he was frail, he fell, and he came back, and proved to be as valiant and just, and all around a good guy as the others.

I totally love Edmund's character, the first time I read it I hated him through the first half of the book, but he realizes what he's done is wrong and he tries to rectify that.

And yeah, Aslan was willing to die for him and that says something as well...in Edmund was something only Aslan could see maybe? It wasn't just to fulfill the prophecy...

I totally love Edmund's character best. Peter is the perfect hero, but Edmund is the more real hero. So, yeah, he's my favorite easily, and the best I think.

oh no, you're definitely not alone .. =) edmund and jill are a tie for first for me. edmund is much more "human," as the others said .. he's the one aslan had to die for so we can definitely relate to him. :)

I love Edmund's character the most! He had to deal with being the traitor in the LWW, and I was reading the Horse and His Boy last night, and a quote that he said made me really go, "deep!"

"But even a traitor may mend, I have known one that did." And he looked very thoughtful.

That quote stuck out for me too, when I first read it...LOL I didn't go deep but I did think it was very deep. Just one more reason I love Edmunds character. Peter's the hero...he's the leader, and I honestly think it's so much easier to be the leader than it is to be the second *pauses thinks* No strike that...I know it's so much harder to be the second LOL He was misguided, but he mended his ways...Eustace was the same way, I almost think they're the same characters but I think Edmund was rather more dangerous, and less mean in his words. Edmund had a worse bite, Eustace the worse bark.

Jill though...never stuck out to me at all, oddly enough. Lucy, yes, hmm...Susan no...just Lucy, but that was because she was in The Voyage of Dawn Treader too so we get to know her character more. But Susan almost isn't in Prince Caspian...it was as if Mr. Lewis was hinting at what happens in The Last Battle.

But Edmunds the tops in my book. :)

Edmund is My Favourite character in Narnia because he has the most character developement.

He begins in LWW as a spiteful little prick and betrays his family. Then we see his realisation of the horrible consequenses of what he has done and him making an effort to right his wrong. Through reading tHahB we can see that this did not simply result in him being a good person, he became wise and just king who could empathise with people whether they be good or bad. The real developement in Edmund though can be seen in PC when he goes against the flow by siding with Lucy. He says that he dosen't want them to make the same mistakes again by not believing her (unfortunatly that is what the rest end up doing). Even in VotDT we can see much character developement. He has grown into a mature responsible person and is a good big brother to Lucy. With Eustace however he has to learn some of the same lessons as Peter does in LWW about being an older sibling (like patience). What I like about this book is that it doesn't paint Edmund as a perfect person. At death water island we see that he can still be greedy, argumentative, and even violent and he is humbled by Aslan because of it.

For me, Edmunds story is not just bad guy turns good. He's a character who is forced to make important decisions about what kind of person he is going to be and he doesn't always get things right.

Hmm... sounds like I know

Especially with Peter going off at him, and telling him that he should do what hes told.
But Peter has to be like the older brother and tell him what to do or what he should with his life.
And hes just trying to figure out everything
But, Unfortunately, he betrays them.
That is why I very much like Edmund cause he is a bit more down to earth type of person

LOL Queen Lucy The Valiant ;)

i think ed. is definitley one of the best. but my all-time fav. is Eustace. but everytime i read the books i can't help but feel this hatred towards him, but then i read the rest of the book and the other stories and he's totally one of my favs.. the way that he becomes this gr8 honest young man is amaizing. and i do beleive that he's better then peter, even though he's gr8 aswell.

I totally know what you mean. Edmund would have to be my second favorite character next to Lucy. (And not including Aslan, of course! :D) He ended up being such a great older brother to Lucy and a great example to us. I really do love Edmund so much.

Am I the only one who thinks Edmund is the best character in all the books? I would be surprised if I'm the only one.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I would have to agree he is a really good, deep character. I like it how he was so humand and is redeemed it really shows you that the worst of sinners can be redeemed and I think he would be a good role model for all of us. He is definitely in my top favorite characters, I don't have a complete favorite I can't decide.
