First Matey Machia

(Notice: This is a temporary thread, created just for the celebration.)

A tall figure appeared on deck, her long, many braided strands of dark brown hair whipping in the brisk wind that pushed their ship through the waves.

"Arrr, it's been many a years since I've seen a day more suited to celebration." Twilight smiled as she patted her favorite cannon and toyed with a power bag she held in her other hand. "I might even see fit to lettin' off a few rounds without an enemy around, although ye all know how careful I be with our ammunition. I might even fire off one of my own muskets." Twilight's body was draped around with firearms off all kinds, but she favored her two large muskets the most. "Arr, all ye new pirates can come to me fer ammuntion and fire arms, but only fer today, and we only be shooting blanks!" She announced with a rather fierce look around the deck.

ooc: Ahoy there piratey friends! I miss posting on our thread rather than on dull school discussion boards about boring authors or "The Recording Industry." I hope me old piratey pals will show up for our celebration. Can we invade more threads today and stir things up? I still remember when we captured Will Moseley.... :D

It's good to have a little reunion with you pirates, even if we were once mortal enemies devoted to carving each other up! I'll step out of my retirement just long enough to reminisce about the old days.

What did we do with Will anyway? I don't remember... Arrr, We probably forgot 'bout him and he's probably still around here somewhere... ;) *Pierre the Invisible cat climbed up on Machia's shoulder* "Arrr, I remember when we invaded Middle Earth, and never even landed on the shore. Too many shipwrecks..." ;)

"PotW! Good to see ye here! (ooc: Arrr, this Piratey talk be hard to get back into.) Gar, I remember many a day we Pirates would be much amused by yer mornin' reports 'bout how disorganized an' fool hearty we pirates were... ;) By the way how be yer bee keepin'?" The First Mate pulled his hat down over his eyes and took a huge bite out of the apple he held in his hand...

ooc: Sorry about the double post!

Fish was up in the rigging, watching Twilight and Machia with amused interest. Soon more pirates were appearing on deck, so Fish grabbed a nearby rope and slid down, landing on the deck with a soft thud. She went up to the First Mate and the Head Gunner and put her arms around them.

"Arr... This be a special occasion, mateys, we should be breakin' out the sparklin' grape juice!!" Fish said.

ooc- Yes, I am double posting... :p Machia is sitting next to me and is being very boring and won't post... ;)

ic- Machia just looked at Fish and raised his eyebrow.

"Ok, ok, so no sparklin' grape juice," Fish promised, her voice teasing. "But what shall we be doin', then, to celebrate?"

"Arr... A ten gun salute?" Twilight proposed.
"Arr... Apple pie fer everyone?" Machia proposed.
"Arr... We could sail to uncharted territories!" proposed IOWW, who had just come from below deck.
"Arr... Or we could go terrorize the Williamites again!" proposed QA48, who had appeared next to IOWW.
Fish, however, kept quiet, because what she really wanted was a different kind of proposal... ;)

ooc: Haha, so sorry... It's been a long time since I've done any pirate posting... ;)

ic: Machia gave a crooked smile, one so familiar to all his crew, and pulled his hat low over his eyes. He slipped Pierre a piece of his apple and it disappeared into the cat's invisible mouth. A lot of the crew, mostly the lazy ones, always grew uneasy when they couldn't see where the First Mate's eyes were staring. Thus Machia liked watching the world from under his hat... Watching the crew nervously glance at him before returning quickly to their work always brought him great amusement. But on this particular evening the First Mate wasn't watching the lazy crew....

His brown eyes followed the movements of a certain pirate as she walked away, happily smiling, her blue eyes scanning every inch of the Black Spot's weather beaten deck. She climbed up the stairs to the helm and stood watching the sunset over the water.

Pierre gave a gruff "Meow." as if to say what he'd head his master say many a time: "Arrr... Get a move on ye lazy dog! 'taint no time like the present!" Machia glanced at his pet with another smile. "Arrr... Well, Pierre.... Here goes nothin'..." He tossed the rest of his apple to Pierre, who caught it in his mouth and ran off. Machia adjusted his weapons' belt, took a deep breath and teleported to the other end of the deck and began to climb slowly up the stairs where Fish was watching the sun sink lower on the horizon...

Twilight raised one of her eyebrows under her red bandanna as she watched the First Mate follow Carpenter Fish with the eagerness usually associated with puppy dogs.

"Arr... I see a bad moon a'risin..." She muttered to the Capn', quirking up her lips in a knowing smile. QA48 turned her head towards the couple and grinned, shaking her head at Twilight.

"Two Doubloons says he'll be too busy watchin Fish and fall over Candace the cannon before he gets to her..." Twilight muttered to IOWW as Machia stumbled towards Fish adoringly.

Fish nodded and smiled at Machia to acknowledge his presence, but then continued to stare out at the red sky and purplish ocean. She blushed when she realized Machia was still watching her.

"Arr... What are ye thankful fer, matey?" Fish asked her second-in-command.

"Apples? Apples?" the Prince offered everyone. Delicately stepping around the spats of tobacco juice staining the deck, he offered some of the best of his recent crop to the pirates lounging about. "Apples are a good thing to be thankful for."

"Apples? What be so great about apples?" growled one of the scurvy dogs.

"They're sweet, and good for you", coaxed the Prince. "And they're even better when they're brewed into...cider!" He rolled a short keg out from behind a mast and popped open the bung. "C'mon, pirates, you're supposed to like this stuff!"

"Arrr, ye'll eat them and drink that and like it, or I'll gully the lot of ye!" yelled a voice from behind Prince of the West. He was immediately mobbed by a band of obedient younger pirates who grabbed most of his apples and made off with the keg of cider, exclaiming over it's tastiness with a somewhat offensive tone of surprise in their voices. When the crowd had cleared a tall grinning pirate stood beside Prince of the West, holding a mug of cider in her hand. Twilight grabbed the Prince in a bone crunching piratey hug, taking care to knock his crown askew as she released him.

"Arr, it be great to see ye Prince. How are things on yer farm, now that ye've gone soft and admitted we pirates can rule the seas on our own?" she asked, winking at him over her mug of cider.

Fish nodded and smiled at Machia to acknowledge his presence, but then continued to stare out at the red sky and purplish ocean. She blushed when she realized Machia was still watching her.

"Arr... What are ye thankful fer, matey?" Fish asked her second-in-command.

"Gar, that Headless Bill didn't burn the apple pie again this year." Machia replied with his typical harsh laugh... "Arrr, not that I wouldn't have jus' eaten it all the same, but...." Fish laughed and the First mate trailed off so as not to interfere with the sound of the laugh he loved so much.

He stood by Fish, looking over the railing at the sunset... and then periodically over at Fish... Then at the sun... Then at Fish... He opened his mouth two or three times in an effort to say something, but nothing came out... Nothing intelligent at any rate. Finally after clearing his throat a couple dozen times at least, Machia finally got something out... "Arrr... So, Fish... Um... thar be somethin' I be wantin' to tell ye... Actually I've wanted ter tell ye this fer a long time... From round 'bout the time... Gar, the first time we were captured by Saruman..."

"Ah - it's great to see you, Twilight," gasped the Prince, trying to recover his breath and his balance. "Things on the farm are well enough - the usual struggles, but overall quite well. I'm afraid I haven't been able to tend to the waterways much of late, being busy with the bees and orchard and all.

"Um, say, you might not want to swill that cider quite so quickly. That's my special brew - extra aged, if you get my drift. It's got quite a kick, even for a pirate - especially the next morning."

Fish's heart skipped a beat. Machia's few minutes of inability to speak didn't take her by too much surprise, as he was often few with his words and made weird gurgling noises with his throat when he saw anyone else eating one of his precious apples, but this time was different.

She waited a few more second for him to speak again, but he seemed to be having trouble finding words, and finally the silence became to awkward for her.

"Aye, matey... Those were good times..." she said nervously. Finally she gave up finding words and turned her head to watch Twilight and PotW.

"Arr, well ye know me Prince, I'm not one fer the grog," Twilight grinned a little sheepishly, holding out her untouched mug. "But ye want to set a good example fer the crew and they get a little wary of visitors with gifts, even if it be such a distinguished visitor as yerself..." She snorted a little with laughter as her eyes traveled over Prince's still disheveled appearance, his crown hanging a little too much over his left ear.

"Things on yer farm sound...adventure filled. Ye sure ye can handle the insurrections among the bees when ye be so busy with the attacks among the apples? Not to mention the little puddles ye call waterways. I can imagine the waterspouts ye be fightin out there. To jump to a different subject entirely, do ye be lookin fer some excitement? I'd be proud to sign ye on as me assistant gunner fer a voyage or two. Ye could take notes, write a book, show it to yer bees..." Twilight grinned again, leaning on her cannon.

"Ah, a pleasant sea voyage - just the thing for overworked bones. Would I have a cabin of my own? And evening strolls on the lido deck?"

"Ah, a pleasant sea voyage - just the thing for overworked bones. Would I have a cabin of my own? And evening strolls on the lido deck?"

Twilight had trouble answer for a second as she was doubled over with an almost hysterical bout of laughter. "Well, I suppose it be depending on what exactly ye'd call a cabin... I never sleeps so it don't matter one way or other to me, but the Capn' has to opens a window and let IOWW perch on the sill when we invites someone else to our Fearless Five meetings in the captain's cabin. I might let ye kip under one of me cannons... Ye wouldn't get too wet as long as it be calm, though it might get a bit noisy... Still, ye should come along. Bring the bees." She poked Prince of the West in the waistcoat as she leaned over and whispered to IOWW "What be a lido deck?"
