yes Happy Mothers day, I'm sure there are more than one real mothers on here, and an especially happy mothers day to them :D but also a happy mothers day to those of you who have been termed TDL Mothers :D
 
Thanks, dear hearts. You know, I have two step-daughters, but never was able to have a baby of my own. It's sweet I can kinda be a mom here.

For All Mothers

Since I was busy spending the day brunching and planting flowers with my own mom, I'm going to have to go with the better late than never philosophy for starting this thread, but I figured it would be nice to pray that all mothers had a nice day with their children, and that all children were grateful for their mothers. May God bless mothers and their children everywhere.
 
Thanks Sunshine Rose! I am a step-mother, so I get in on the Mother's Day action even though I didn't actually raise a baby of my own. It was a great Mother's Day from my perspective -- nice calls and gifts from both girls (who are grown-up now and live in another state), great lunch with my hubby, shopping at the Houston Galleria, and then home to splash in the pool for a bit ... Could only have been better if the kids were home.

Happy belated to Benisse -- otherwise I don't know who else on TDL is a mama.

Thank you Rose for spreading so much Sunshine in our midst. My family let me pick what I wanted to do so we went to an art museum and then ate at a Mexican restaurant. It was special getting remembered not only by my kids, but also by a few friends. A lovely day... and I also remembered my Mom by wearing her watch and vest, as well as a locket with her and my dad's photos inside. It was a lovely, lovely day.

I'm glad you had a great day, Benisse. A trip to an art museum followed by a meal at a Mexican restaurant sounds like an excellent way to spend the day. It's also really touching that you were able to remember your mother with her watch, vest, and locket with both your parents' photos inside. May God continue to shine His blessings upon you and your family:)
 
That is so sweet you said that about your mum's watch, vest and locket -- I almost always am wearing something either that my mum gave me or something of hers I inherited, too ... Right now I am wearing a gorgeous aquamarine cross on a chain that she used to wear. :)

It's so nice that you have a keepsake cross from your mom, inkspot. All those mother-daughter heirlooms are so touching.
