Here's a snippet of what I've written so far:

“Sully!” His wife’s cry sliced through the night. He paced back and forth outside, the icy fingers of fear and dread tightening their grip on his heart. He had been sent away from his wife’s side, sent away because of her pain and struggle. Her pregnancy hadn’t been easy from the start; Abagail had always been a delicate flower, yet strong enough to survive on the frontier…the Colorado territory. But was she strong enough to survive this? Sully wasn’t sure. Another cry pierced his thoughts; then all became silent, even though the chirping of the crickets was loud. Something had happened, he knew it did. The door to the homestead slowly opened, and Charlotte Cooper walked out, her face drawn with sadness.

“Abagail, is she?” Sully started to ask, but Charlotte slowly shook her head.

“I’m so sorry, Sully; she didn’t survive” the black-haired woman responded.

“But the baby survived, right?” Sully asked, and again Charlotte shook her head.

“The baby was stillborn. It was a girl” she said sadly. Sully wasted no time in ascending the steps to the door and going inside. His wife, Abagail Bray Sully was lying on the bed, looking as peaceful as she always did, except when she was angry. The baby was wrapped in a blanket and lying in Abagail’s arms; their daughter. HIS daughter. He knelt down beside the bed, his hands clasping her arm that held their daughter, and he wept.

Actually, that's all I've written so far, haha. Abagail isn't mispelled; it's how her name was spelled in the series. By the way, this happened back in the 1860s. ;) Dr. Quinn,Medicine Woman is a tv series that ran from 1993-1998 for six seasons, followed by two tv movies: The Movie and The Heart Within. It starred Jane Seymour as Dr. Michaela 'Mike' Quinn, and Joe Lando as byron sully.

Disclaimer: Some dialogue was borrowed from episode scripts; in that case, the dialogue rightfully belongs to Beth Sullivan and CBS. Everything else that isn’t recognizable from the series belongs to me.
No money is made off of this fanfiction.

The bad thing about Sully's past, and I've looked on the official website, I can't find the date of death for Abagail; wasn't it about a year or so before the series began??? I could look it up on my dvds but I'm too lazy right now to do it, and too busy. :p

Abagail and Hannah died in 1863 according to most episodes (particularily "Washington Affair"),although the gravestone always says 1865 for some reason.;)

The Pilot episode takes place in 1867,so Abagail would have been dead for about 4 years,if you use the first date.:)

Here's a timeline:

Oh, so they did name the baby after all? I'll have to change that and the dates. I found an alternate timeline that wasn't very good...but I copied both down since I'll be offline for a day or so.

Yes,Sully mentions that he named her in the episode "Malpractice" in season 5,and I think "Wave Goodbye" also names her...maybe one more, can't remember. But her name was definately Hannah in "Malpractice".:)

Dates kinda switch around on the show but that timeline seems quite accurate, taking into account Sully having been in the war and the Indian/army conflicts.

I wrote quite a lot more while I was away (a lot, at least in my mind anyway).....I really don't know how Sully met Cloud Dancing, so I made it up. :p

Hehe oh okay.:p *waits for more of story* :D

Wish I could help you but my mind draws a blank. I'm terrible with naming stories,I usually finish it before I name it.:p

Have you tried looking at quotes?Imdb has tons from DQMW and I get a lot of my titles that way.:D

I think Heartsong fits the story best. :D Will post more right now, then head off to ask a mod to change the title. ;)

CHAPTER ONE (4 years later)

As the cold Colorado wind whipped around him, Byron Sully knelt down in front of Abagail’s and the Hanna’s graves. The memories of that night washed over him yet again, as they always did when he made his regular Sunday visits to the graves. He had lost them four years ago today, but the feelings he had were as strong as they were the night he had lost his wife and daughter, and himself. Feeling the tears begin to well up in his eyes, he grabbed a handful of dirt, letting the wind carry it away from him. He heard Wolf stand up beside him, and Sully knew without looking that someone was approaching them. Sully had found Wolf when he went to live with the Cheyenne after Abagail’s untimely death. He stood up and turned around, not at all surprised to see Loren Bray, his former father-in-law standing there. Loren had been blaming Sully for Abagail’s death ever since it happened, and to be honest, Sully blamed himself to an extent, but he didn’t force Abagail to marry him, or to fall in love with him. Before he left, he ran his fingers over the wooden crosses standing at the head of the graves, one marked his wife’s, and the other marked his daughter’s grave. “You’ve had your time with ‘em, now clear on out” he heard Loren say. Loren had always been cantankerous, but even more so since his daughter passed away.

Sully sighed. “Don’t worry; I’m goin. Come on boy.” He turned and walked away with Wolf following close behind him.

You know I can picture the scene in my mind like an episode of the show....very well written,I like the mood you've set.:)
