Help Me!!!!

He-ather

Ok I was reading "Letters to Children" (by Jack, of course) in one of his letters he said he left many hints for fans so they could write thier own Narnia stories:
"I've left you plenty of hints-- especially where Lucy and the Unicorn are talking in 'The Last Battle'". I searched and searched but I can't say I know where he's talking about. Please help me!!!

Ok, I'll help you. First of all, it's Jill who's talking to Jewel, not Lucy. And you can find what they talk about on page 109 of The Last Battle.

Writing stories based on Narnia seems....almost....well I personally be scared out of my mind if asked to publish a new Narnia story. But you are right that Lewis left alot of open ends in Narnia that could be picked up on. Personally I hope alot of kids write thier own stories about Narnia, heck I have a few myself, and get them to use thier God-given imaginations. At the same time I hope no more stories are published about Narnia....call me a purist, but unless done extremely well I fear new stories would try to please everyone and lose the core Christian beliefs that are a vital part to Narnia.

exactly, no more should be published AT ALL

Some have tried with addition Screwtape letters, and it comes off kind of cheesy. Lewis really is a genius, and you just don't add to genius.

Agreed, kids need to definitely try to write.

BUT I don't think we should put a limit on what a human mind can accomplish. If someone else comes along and can write in the same sense as Lewis and use the same type of words(shan't and all the words that the British said in 1940's---some still do) and it is a good story, I say print it. Because you never know, that person may have journeyed to Narnia and heard a tale to write down for us. ;) ;) ;)

o.k. u know what i've read some fantastic storys of the pevensie kids after they come back from narnia (of corse before peter, ed, and lucy get back for good). but i don't think that another story should ever be published about narnia. sure write them for youself but don't try to get them out to the public.

oh, and no offense to u he-ather, but is that the best pic. of will u could find?

I have also read some fantastic stories about Narnia. I think of some person could capture us like Lewis---and I think it is possible---hard---but possible---and maybe use different people, because Digory told the Pevensie's that when they met someone who had been there, they would know. So maybe a story based off that.

But like I said, someone else may be a total genius, why limit them because we don't see C.S. Lewis on the bottom of the book.

Honestly, if someone made a story that was great, and Walden published it(off course with consent from Lewis' family and such) under his name, it would be different. But if they published the same story with another person's name, everyone would go crazy.

I know that it is a wonderful series, and a hard writing technique to match, but could be possible.

i've always thought that there was always a potential to write stories about narnia- for example what happens during the Golden Age? Lewis only gave us one adventure (The Horse and His Boy) that took place in this magnificent era. but the story i have been so compelled by is linked to my favourite narnia chronicle- the Voyage of the Dawn Treader- i've always thought it would make great adult fiction to write a story of the seven lords and their journey to the utter east. although we have glimpses of their story through the VDT there is so much that can go there.

Start writing Raheel. Most likely, they won't get famous, but posting it to the online community would be great. When you get ideas, start writing.

You never know, it could get big thou.
