Hey, my login still works!

Hello everyone,

I've hardly been around for years, but I've not been idle. Along with the tedious but necessary business of earning a living, I've been working on some writing that definitely leans into Lewis in places -- sometimes with echoes of Narnia, but often with a tip of the hat towards The Great Divorce or the Planets trilogy.

The latest -- and I was putting almost the final touches to it on Good Friday -- is a second novel in the setting that is Ten Leagues Beyond the Wide World's End. Called Crown of Thrones, it features the same Pilgrims who finished the previous book (The Crew and the Pilgrims) as thoroughly reformed characters, and now with a completely new challenge in front of them.

The challenge grew in the telling. I knew what the Crown was, and who would put it on, and why, and what he or she would do... but the exact amount of pitch and moment that was going to be attached to that was something that the story itself told me as I was writing it.

If you're curious, you'll find it here.
