How to deal with it

Sick
So early in your life
A sudden disease is diagnosed
But you won't give up
You decide your life is not ended
It just started!!!
Days turn into weeks
Weeks into months
Months into years
You shake, you seem nervous
You hardly can speak
Your normal daily things are changed forever
Nobody would think you are sick
They would consider you nuts
Drinking too much alcohol
You laugh and are tired of explaining
The same story over and over again
But you keep your own spirit alive
I don't have to sport, I burn calories anyway by shaking
You even make jokes!
But sometimes you realise how long it will take
Before you cannot even open your eyes anymore
Today is today and tomorrow is for another day
You enjoy your life everyday
And your spirit is a good example for others
 
I write some poetry Joe. And mostly it is never dark. Yep, MJF is my inspiration. I have read a part of his biography. Some chapters were poted so you could read what it was about and it was about is disease and his spirit.

very nice, ness. yes, it is easy to see that mjf was the inspiration;)
it almost sounds like it could be talking of my daddy with his type one diabeties (cept for the drinking part). i like the pome. as said before, you are one of my favorite authors ness.:D

It's a little depressing, and I can't decide if it is encouraging in a way or not. But I like it all the same. :)
