If Aslan created the animals who created....

Who created the evil beasts? In the movie, you see these men who also look like Mongols or Turks fighting on the side of the Queen. And all the evil creatures, the goblins, that weird jumping worm-like creature...who created those?

After reading the Magician's Nephew I wondered where and why Aslan showed up when he did.

I have a theory on that, so to speak.

The world between worlds is a sort of root directory.

The ponds are, so to speak, folders for projects.

God opened a new folder for Narnia. Then went in and "formatted" it by giving the empty space "placeness"

So here it is waiting for everything to go on. Aslan unfolds an idea. Think for a moment of him installing a living world the way you or I would use an install disk to put on an application.

That still leaves us to where the evil ones came from.

They are corruptions of original good animals. The ones that followed Jadis and wanted to "upgrade" when in fact they degenerated.

Great theory there :) and a good analysis with the folders. That really helps put it into concrete perspective.

I guess with some of the animals getting evil they also metamorphosed physically to match that evil nature, thus becoming hideous and grotesque.

Aslan came about maybe because it was just meant to be.

I have always thought of it like with people - there are people who follow God eg in Narnia that is Aslan - and then you have others who turn away from their faith, etc. and I guess in Narnia those creatures were won over by the white witch. Thats just always how I always saw it but EveningStar has a very good theory!
