Images of CS Lewis?

For a scholarship, I have to submit a photo of someone of great significance and explain that significance. I chose CS Lewis, and I wrote my essay, but now I need a photo! I don't think I can just use Google Images or anything, because I don't have the rights to those images, and I can't draw something because it specifically has to be a photograph. I don't know if this really belongs here, but I was wondering if anyone knew where to find copyright-free images of CS Lewis.
Any ideas? Thanks!

I see all kinds of photos of CSL all over the place, and I'm sure that nobody worries about copyrights. Here's one that was posted on a blog:

These pictures are all so old that I'm sure any copyright concerns have expired.

I feel like if you cite the source of the photograph you use you should be fine, since you can hardly take your own picture of CS Lewis now, and I would feel like a scholarly essay should fall under the conditions of fair use, but I'm not totally sure. Really, I think that if you cite the source, and it is not going to be widely published, you should be fine. If it is going to be widely circulated, I think that you should contact the source and seek permission to use it, but if it will be used in a scholarly way, I don't think you should have a problem getting the permission.

I too would think it would be okay to use these images, but it's just that I don't want my scholarship application disqualified for something silly like a picture not belonging to me!

Thanks for the advice.

Ah, I see. I wonder if you can contact the people organizing the scholarship in some way to see if it is okay to use a picture that isn't yours in the case that you are writing about a deceased person of whom you would not be able to get a picture of your own. That might be the easier way to go about this. Sorry I can't be of more help:(

Most public photos you can find on Google are fine and you can use them as you like. Unless they have a watermark and you have to buy it, you should be ok if you use it. Heck! you should be ok if you use one that's watermarked as well if you don't mind the thing!
