In Christ Alone- Owl City

This is so beautiful! <3 Adam Young's music has brought me a lot of happiness in the past, but this completely blew me away. :) I love how unashamed he is to proclaim his faith through music.

I really liked that, I like his voice but all the Owl City songs I've ever heard were weird. But as much as I love that song he could have picked a better one, he doesn't sing with enough emotion for In Christ Alone

Don't you dare dis Adam!

Anyway...that really made me cry. I couldn't help it. Reading that and listening to the song made me so extremely happy I couldn't help it.
He's probably my favorite singer ever and to learn he's christian now just made my day! Look what staying up all night in a Coca-Cola factory does to you!:)

I've been listening to his early recordings Sky Sailing and the first one "Sailboats" is making me cry harder. Its so sweet its sad.
He is probably the best poet and I love every thing he writes and use him as inspiration for my poetry and songwriting. My dad calls the band a rip-off and of course isn't as enthusiastic like EVERYTHING ELSE I like but oh well...this is pretty good news! That means I can hear him on the christian radio now!

Now if only Ben would make a break through soon...which I promise you will be soon.

I'm listening to the song for at least the twentieth time now... and I'm still blow away. I hope that Adam will release a worship album. Nothing could be better!

This is a beautiful song. I actually had it on my mind all afternoon (after hearing it on the radio, though not this version), and just looked it up a minute ago to listen to again. And then I came over here and found this thread. I just found it a bit funny :)

I like this version, though not quite as much as some others I've heard (namely, the one I came across on the radio today... probably because it brought back a lot of the emotion I have associated with this song all at once). It's nice though.

Part of the reason I like this rendition is because I can actually sing along with it. :p I have a really bad voice which can't go very high or low. This version was most always at the pitch I can sing. xP

I liked it.:) But I still like the one my Teen Choir does better. Still this version is one of the first songs that I can sing along with the first time without ever having heard it before. :D

pshhahaaww! don't pull me stitches! That would be MARVALOUS!
He knows how to take things and make them poppy!
Plus hearing him on the christian radio would totally make my day..AGAIN!
I find the christian radio utterly boring because the one here has only two artists and its the SAME song over and over and oveeeeeer! Plus when the artists try and do a song that's christian but not an original hymn,it comes off tacky. when I hear someone who's NOT a christian sing a song about struggles with God...its ACTUALLY powerful, but people who've been christians a long time in the music industry can't do that.
The reason I can see Adam making songs like this is because he HAS had a bit of a troubled past. insomnia can really do things to you,y'know.
If he starts releasing more hymns I think I might die of utter happiness!:D:D:D

Same here. And although I don't entirely agree with your appraisal of Christian music, it is pretty blunt but correct. ;) I'm not quite sure what it is about it, but it just doesn't resonate with me enough. (Still, there are some exceptions. For instance, I think many of Sanctus Real's songs are great.)

Also, it seems like many Christian bands tries to copy what's popular. It seems that they try to make things appealing by being 'the Christian alternative to what everybody likes' instead of being unique and powerful in what they, personally, have to give.

YES! that last line is EXACTLY what I'm trying to say!
I didn't say ALL christian music. Just the stuff they play on K-love. I thinnk fly leaf and superchick are good. Sufjan Stevens and jars of clay are amazing too!
does peter paul and mary count?

I was reading around about Adam today and I found out some more things utterly sad and sweet. I find him the most beautiful poet when it comes to love songs but apparently he stated he has a problem socializing with women. He tried to take a girl on a date to one of his concerts and he got nervous and wigged out. And then I learned why that is...he has ASPERGER'S SYNDROME! I have that! It makes you socially awkward with the opposite sex. I do that with boys all the time, even my cousin...I just get weird.
I just found that sadly sweet...thats just what he is.
sadly sweet....

I do hope he finds an equally awkward girl sometime...or he'll be doomed to end up like Ben barnes! loveless and lonely!
Then again,he's got jesus! who needs girls now!!??

then again....

LOL! You're so funny! :p And I like Superchick too. :)

its not funny! thats true! I've got feelings for both of 'em and I was hoping Adam would be taken but noooooo! Now I've TWO loveless geeks on my hands...aye aye aye.
You know, when you are homeschooled..AND on break...AND AT HOME ALL DAY!!!! You start to concern yourselves with things that don't need to be concerned with just because there's nothing else better to do....

Oh yes,I live "we live we love" and "stand in the rain"
