Welcome to the website!!

In my opinion, I think you should read it in the order that its put in.

Magician's Nephew
The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
The Horse and His Boy
Prince Caspian
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The Silver Chair
The Last Battle

I hope that helps. :)

I agree totally on the order. Although LWW and others were published before the Magician's Nephew, chronologically the Magician's Nephew takes place before the LWW.

I forget what order I read them in first, but I think it was:

Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe
Prince Caspian
Voyage of the Dawn Treader
Silver Chair
Horse and His Boy
Magicians Nephew
Last Battle

I was glad I didn't read MN first. Because if you read it first, it kinda spoils the suprises later on... But if you wait to read the Magicians Nephew, then it's like, "Oh... so that's how it all happened!" It's a nice little surprise...

yup thats the order! ;) some people like to read them in the order he wrote them...but i read them this way...it exsplanes things better i think

Either way, if you want to understand as you read...read the Magicains Nephew first, if you want to be suprised and be like "ooooooooooh, thats why" read it second to last.

I strongly recommend publication order:

Lion
Prince Capian
Dawn Treader
Silver Chair
Horse
Nephew
Last Battle

You can see Lewis' literary style developing, and there are other advantages. The chronological order was a later imposition by the publisher.

REally I just read them how I feel like reading them. Like one day I will read Dawn Treader or Last battle. I just read them all over the place. Butif it is a first time reader just read them how they are marked.

For most people new to the series, I would urge them to start with "The Magician's Nephew"--the more so since the present-day world is plagued with people who have the same coldly selfish attitudes as Uncle Andrew and Jadis herself. I would only favor starting with LWW if the person had no advance idea what the books were about, and was someone who would benefit spiritually by the dawning realization: "That's Jesus! Aslan is Jesus!"

I agree that the beginner should read them chronilogically. but I still think they should be filmed in publication order.
