Jurassic Park IV: Extinction

Sir Godfrey

Pelegrin Crucis
It has long been speculated that a fourth Jurassic Park would be made. For nearly six years there has been nothing but vague rumors.. until now. Steven Spielberg has declared that a fourth Jurassic Park will be made, the script is currently going throught another draft and Laura Dern the actress who played Ellie Sattler in first and third Jurassic films has been comfirmed to have been casted. I have searched all over the net for any other pieces of information on JPIV, but to no avail. It is very obvious however that the fans are responding and calling for a sequel. From Itunes to JP forums, fans are asking for a fourth Jurassic Park. I stand along with them, hoping that Universal and Spielberg will hear are cry and get Jurassic Park IV underway. I have read bit of the script and so far I'm not too impessed, but I'm keeping my faith in Spielberg that he will deliver a spectacular conclusion to the Jurassic Park Series.

So please leave any comments you have Jurassic Park IV. If you would like to even talk about the other films, feel free too.

If it's made, I sure hope it's better than the second, which was lame, and the third, which was atrocious. Even the Crichton book upon which the second was based was a weak, cobbled work that was clearly a potboiler designed to capitalize on the success of the original JP novel.

The first was great, though - one of the best translations of a book to a movie that I've seen.

I like all the movies because of the monsters. The first JP is too scientific IMO, the second one just dull, the third one dumb, but funny. I don't like the books. Years before Crichton, a Bulgarian called Petar Bobev has written a book with similar plot - only it was only about T-Rexes. I liked it much better than the JP books.

So there's going to be another sequel?

Well... it has been long time since JP, and the way it enthralled children and not so children with dinousaurs. So, it'll be only, or it should be, a decent adventure movie.

About which species it should introduce, perhaps the Megaraptor, or Utaraptor (yeah, more raptors, although Deinonicus would be one of the biggest, save for the Utahraptor and Megaraptor).

And I agree, the Liolpleurodon would be a really superb villain... but, it is not a dinousaur, but a sea reptile. Dinosaurs are a kind of reptiles which, unlike the air and sea reptiles, and the common reptiles we see today, the dinosaurs have their legs, feet under their bodies, not in their flanks.

And... well, I can't remember much now, I was taught by a friend who is really a fan of JP, he still keeps the toys, cards, magazines, comics, novelizations and obviously, has the novel. The dinosaurs and JP are one of his biggest passions aside from the epic and LOTR.

I agree that they should introduce some sea Dinosaurs like Plesiosaur. As for my species of raptors, I would enjoy seeing Deinonychus, however I'm afraid they will add the new furry/feather bird like look to Deinonychus and all other Dromaeosauridae (raptors). I personally think the bird look is not only ridiculous looking but also inaccurate. I hold to the belief that Dinosaurs where more closely related to lizards and reptiles. I argue that just because some Dinosaurs had air sacks, hallows, and even hallow bones like birds doesn't mean that where directly related to birds. After all the closest living relatives of Dinosaurs are Crocodiles and Alligators which of course are reptiles.

The Dinosaur would most want to see in Jurassic Park IV would be Allosaurus. I love T-Rex and I think Spinosaurus is great super predator, but I would love to see Allosaurus terroize Costa Rica and even challege other smaller carnovours.

As for the Jurassic Trilogy itself I loved the first and second. I wasn't too thrilled with the third.

By the way think you all for leaving your comments. :)
