Last Battle...PG?

Something I was wondering, providing they get that far in the series, is teh rating of the Last Battle. That one would be the most intense in the series. You have all your characters (save Susan) dying obviously, durring the battle Jewel the unicorn is killed, Eustace, Jill and Tirian are manhandled and throne into the stable, there's also Tash ( who would have to be more horrifying than the apparition of Jadis) the dwarves shooting the horses, Narnia being destroyed, and so much more. So with these things in mind could they realistically bring the Last Battle to the silver screen and keep it PG or would it get a PG-13?

hmmmm... good question. I would hope that they would leave it PG but to keep the same stuff in to keep the whole meaning of the story they might have to make it PG-13...

I read that the deal with Disney was that all seven movies had to be no more than PG. However I do agree this could be a problem in LB...Talk about violence!! We shall see :p

I have heard so many people say PC need to be PG-13 and when LWW came out some people said it need to be PG-13 (I disagree). I think if they want to stay close to the book making LB it will probably need to be PG-13, but if Disney said it can't be no more than PG, it will be a VERY intense PG.

I hope TLB is a PC type of PG

I'd hope they would try to preserve the PG rating as much as possible, considering that the target really should be for families and children and for those like myself who tend to look at the rating closely when making the choice to see or not see the film. I did think PC was pushing the envelope on the rating just a bit. Since they did manage to get PC in with a PG (just barely, I think) they probably will be able to do the same with TLB.

if they kept it true to the book and made the movie just as intense they might have to make it PG-13 which i'm okay with since i am old enough. But also thinking about the little kids who read the Narnia series and wanted to see the movie as well, it'd be disappointing to them not to be able to see it. But i bet they could figure out a way to get around all those rating things and make it just as intense...but still not too intense!!

Hmm, that's tough. While the Chronicles WERE written for children, TLB is sort of violent and could not easily be made into a PG movie while following the book exactly. I would be okay with a PG-13, but I'd rather they cut down a bit on the violence and have it as a PG. I dunno.

Yes, TLB is one of the best narnia books. It is sadder than some of the others, but I hugely enjoy it, especially the end.

As for the PG vs. PG-13 discussion, I think that, if it's director keeps all of the fighting in (as most of them like to do), it will inevitably be PG-13.

Well, they're going to have keep a large portion of the fighting in, simply because of the title.

It's called the Last BATTLE, and if there wasn't a decent amount of fighting (enough for it to be a battle), everyone would be like, "Oh, that isn't a battle!"

Exactly, it's not called "The Last Scirmish" or "The Last Tiff" or the "Last Disagreement That They Could Not Settle With Words."

The books are for children; fairy tales, so I hope they can keep it PG. Disney has done a lot of scary animated stuff and still kept the ratings to children could see it. It will be tricky, though, but if the battles in PC were PG rated, then I think they can do a creditable TLB within that rating.

I'd be perfectly content with a PG-13 movie, actually I prefer it. Free of all romance though, it's completely unneccessary, or am I forgetting a twist in LB?

I figure the entire beginning should have an erie, depressing feel to it. As soon as the last is cut down, all of that feeling is gone. A huge transition, but I think that would make it.

Like work and pain, and then sleep, rest.
