I forget if I told you this -- I posted it on my Facebook, I know.

(If we're not friends on FB, search for me at jaxna@earthlink.net and just tell me your TDL screen name in your Friend Request so I know who you are.)

Anyway:

Because my husband loves me and is so cool, he is taking me to a film showing of Lord of the Rings/Fellowship of the Rings with the Houston Symphony playing the score live during the film! I am so excited.

And, the tickets he booked as soon as the event was announced are actually going to be obstructed by the film equipment, so the Symphony has upgraded us to the front row of the mezzanine, center. I think these are going to be great seats! I am so excited!!!

it is July 24. Check it out ...

They even have a soloist who will be doing the Enya parts ...

So excited! It's all I can talk about.

This reminds me: I recently got to see, for the first time, the DVD Mr. Shore made about the creation of the Lord of the Rings Symphony. It was a wonderful peek inside the creative process. For example, the composer told how he tried to help show us the difference in atmosphere between Rivendell and Lothlorien--the former place more scholarly and contemplative, the latter more mystical.

Oh, how exciting! I hope that you enjoy the event even MORE than you're anticipating.
Thank you! I don't know how I could, but I hope so too.
That'd be fun...though I seriously doubt any orchestra could rival the one conducted by Howard Shore! ;)
Agreed -- but this one will be live, and there's something about the live orchestra, you know.
Ooh, how cool! That sounds amazing! I hope you have a great time!
Thank you! I think it will be amazing

That is so cool! I can't even imagine having the talent to make/write music like that. Wow.
Oh! I think we're going to one of these in Chicago sometime in August.
Sweet!

Oh wow, that sounds so amazing! I would love to see (and hear!) that. There's something about a live orchestra that makes the music seem more... alive (with good reason, I suppose, haha :D).

You'll have to let us know how it is!

I wanna go to that too! Looks amazing. Live orchestra as the movie plays? that's just awesome!

I know -- it's all I can talk about (except possibly going to Ethiopia, now I can talk about that, too). I think it's going to be wonderful! And ... through one of those Groupon type deals, I got us two dinners at this restaurant we've never been too because it's so pricey, for $34 for both of us, which will be our meal before the show. It's going to be a great date for Inky. :)
