love or crush??

I know what it's like to have a crush, I have had about 5. But there is a guy I like and the feeling I have for him is different from any other guy I've had a crush on, even one I had a crush on forever. I still feel stronger about colin (the guy I like). does that mean it's no longer a crush? how do you change from a crush to love? how do you know when you love someone vs. crush/like them? what's the difference?

I'm confused as you can see, so just give your comments about what makes a crush a crush and it's difference from acctual love... :)

Well, most of the time if you think you might be in love with them, you probably are. But it feels much stronger than just a crush, and most of the time you can't help but smile when that person comes into view.

I agree with SO. ^_^ A crush to me seems like you just start out liking the person for their looks, and you barely know them. But then when you really get to know them, and their personality, then you love them for who they are inside. regardless the looks. ^_^

Im bad at explaining things...:p

That was very well said actually...but love is partly sacrifice. That means, you are willing to do anything for him. If you feel that way, then, maybe...you are in love....

Yes, that's pretty much true. If you love someone, you usually would do anything for them...but you can feel that way towards almost anybody, and not be 'In love' with them.

I kind of know how you're feeling, EFC, as I'm in the same situation with a guy I'm rather fond of. Only you know truly know the answer; we don't know how strongly you feel for him, and we don't know him either; the answer you're looking for is inside yourself. You just need to search for it.

thanks you guys...I think I do love him.

y'see I had a crush on a guy I'd known sinse kindergarden. He and I were good friends and I wanted us to get a bit closer, but I didn't think much past that. I didn't think of spending the rest of my life with him, or do anything for him. That's what's different about colin, I'd be perfectly happy to spend my whole life at his side, and I wouldn't hesitate to do anything for him.

I know now that, yeah, I LOVE him. thanks. you guys can keep posting and everything, kay? kay.

When you are really in love with someone, you know it is not the same as you feel for everybody. This person is in your mind the whole time and the only thing you can talk about is this person. Everything he/she does is great in your eyes. I know Mags is madly in love with Colin. She is for a while now. It started with a crush and it turns out to be more for her than just a crush. But if he is the right one? Only time can tell.

I used to be really in love. Then something happened and I had to let go. I still love him though. That can't really change.

I'm going to start with some questions! First off, I'm sorry not more people posted on here! I think its a very interesting topic!

Question 1: Are you still liking him?
Question 2: Do you know him online? Family Friend? How do you know him?
Question 3: How often do you talk to him?

I've had quite a bit of experience with crushes and love, two of my sibs have a BF and GF... I think a crush is when you see someone, not just once, but a couple of times, and you like him/her! I mean, say you see a cute guy walking down the street, you like his looks, but that's not a crush if you don't see him again right? I think love starts, when you become BF and GF! Please answer my questions! I'm curious to figure out you answers!

I think crushes are more one-sided infatuation situations whereas love is more of a commitment + feeling + giving

Scientifically, a crush commonly lasts for only a month or so. If it lasts much longer than 6 months, you're already in love. Or so I've heard. It could be total baloney, but then I'm not big on science. I may not be big on science, but I am a bit of a hopeless romantic and would like to believe it's true. x]
