Does anyone like Miley Cyrus' music? I heard two of her songs for the first time this morning and quite liked them. She has a nice voice too.
 
I have been a long time fan of her music for about four years now. Although I don't like how she dresses now, her music is still good, and I still highly enjoy it.
 
I think her fame and her youth and her hormones are all getting to her - as it would most people. She still seems quite sweet and innocent to me.
 
No I don't like her at all. It is the same as usual with all these teenage stars. At a certain age they want to show off their bodies and want to shock and upset the audience. They think it is something the people will remember but they forget that this has done so many times by other celebs people will not even remember it in 2 years time. The only fool she makes out of someone is herself.
 
Nope. To me she is a spoiled brat who has not been taught the difference between right and wrong, and she is a bad role model to look up to. In my mind, it does not take talent to sell sex. Selling sex/selling herself is exactly what she's doing, and she's doing it all for attention. Her parents ought to be incredibly ashamed/embarrassed.

Personally, I don't think a Miley Cyrus thread should be allowed on the forums considering her promiscuous videos/performances, and the fact that young members could be encouraged to view her videos, which are full of sex and bad behavior. But, this is my opinion only. Perhaps a moderator should weigh in on this.
 
That sounds quite extreme, but perhaps you are right. To be honest I have not been paying much attention to her or her behaviour so far. It is just that I heard some of her songs today and thought they were okay....I do think she has a nice voice. But I am aware that there is some hype going on about her.

I agree with the behavior she puts out now is horrible. But this is about her songs, not about the videos that accompany them. She used to be wholesome, but that image is long gone from her. She shouldn't be selling sex. She should remember who her fan base is, and set out to be positive for them.

I'm glad there's other stars like the cast of Harry Potter and Narnia who are positive role models for people.
 
i feel sorry for Miley she's been sucked in

actualy i feel sorry for Miley the way she portrays herself in her rock videos is preety sad but she needs alot of prayer, it's true that one thing sells in this culture these days, but Miley has been sucked in into a culture where that is preety much the norm these days, i like the way she sings & her acting on T.V. as Hannah Montana but i don't know if i would watch her rock videos though, I also wouldn't encourage boycotting her
 
Maybe I will sound harsh now so forgive me but I don't think any celeb needs our prayers more than the regular person. You can't tell me people these days don't know the dangers when they become famous. There are tons and tons and tons of people who became famous before her and tons more who will become famous after her. You can never convince me she was just innocent and got tricked. She is not deaf and blind. She just gave in to this to shock the fans and the audience.I have zero respect for such people. I don't feel sorry for her either. She knew exactly what she was doing and perhaps she found herself boring and decided to spice up her image. Well we know the results and if she thinks she is an exception she is utterly wrong.

I know where you are coming from and I am grieved at Miley Cyrus' current choices. I would not recommend her now, although before her breaking out from her wholesome image, I liked "The Climb," and that music was even choreographed for a group of actors with disabilities that my daughter was in.

Whether to give space on this forum to discuss Cyrus to me is more of a question; thanks for bringing it up, Aravisk. Can we discuss her music apart from her current media persona? Is Censorship necessary because someone has currently become a terrible role model even though at one point their work would have been okay?

I'm not really current on the pop music scene so I spent some time reading reviews of Cyrus' music and performances in 2013 (especially on PluggedIn.com). As a result I definitely agree that her current work and video-antics are not in line with this forum's stated posting guidelines. So I would be in favor of closing this thread.
