Edmund goes white.
WHITE WITCH (cont’d)

Edmund breathes again, relieved.
THE WITCH LIFTS EDMUND FROM THE FLOOR.
WHITE WITCH (cont’d)
Where did they go?
EDMUND
I...I don’t know.
WHITE WITCH

She raises her wand. Edmund whimpers.
EDMUND
Wait. The Beaver said
something about...Aslan?
THE WITCH’S EYES FREEZE. She drops Edmund to the floor.
WHITE WITCH
Aslan? Where?
EDMUND

TUMNUS LEAPS TO HIS FEET, INTERRUPTING.
MR. TUMNUS
He’s a stranger here, your Majesty. He can’t
be expected to know anything!
The Witch glares at Tumnus. Ginarrbrik knocks the faun back. She turns to Edmund.
WHITE WITCH
I said, where is Aslan?
Tumnus shoots Edmund a desperate look. Edmund stares at him for a long moment, then...
EDMUND
I don’t know. I left before they said anything.
I wanted to see you.
WHITE WITCH
GUARD!
AN OGRE SLAMS OPEN THE DOOR, STANDING AT ATTENTION.
The Witch purses her lips.
WHITE WITCH (cont’d)
Release the faun.
The Ogre drags Tumnus out.
WHITE WITCH (cont’d)
Do you know why you’re here, faun?
He tries to straighten up proudly.
MR. TUMNUS
Because I believe in a free Narnia.
WHITE WITCH
You’re here because he turned you
in. For sweeties.
Tumnus looks at Edmund, confused.
WHITE WITCH (cont’d)
Take him upstairs. And ready my sleigh.
Edmund misses his family.
The Witch gives Edmund one last contemptuous smile...then turns on her heel and walks out.
Leaving Edmund in misery.
